Can you please explain the problem in details, What would you like to change on Netgear router? I can suggest you router configuration website which you can try
WNDR3400 is a dual band WiFi router. In case your Laptop has Wireless N card then you can can use Wireless N on WiFi else you need to use Wireless G.To enhance the Router performance Disable one WiFi Network on your Router(Either N or G) and configure Channel 11 for long range signals. To configure said changed you need to login into Router (http://192.168.1.1 or http://10.0.0.1)Check IP address to find your router's IP address (Gateway address is the router address)Type User name and passwordDefault username and password for netgear routersUsername : admin Password : password Goto wireless settings and disable one of the wireless network a per your requirements (N 0r G, if you have Wireless G adapter on your laptop then suggest you not to use Wireless N)Changed Channel - 11 Save settingsAnd reboot Router Hope this helps
This is a known bug with the firmware/software on this model, even though you set the timezone to -5 EST anytime a change is made it resets the router to PST -8.
You can try updating the router to the latest firmware (please check the NetGear website for how to do this) which could potentially fix the issue.
Well, I know this may be solved by now (Hope so anyway, right???) but YES IT DOES !! I just set up our new WNDR3400 this evening and my son has 240 Mbps through a Netgear WN111 out in the garage (approx. 75 ft. away...)
