My 1510-IT came with a faulty battery cover top for the rain guage. There should be a metallic clip mounted to the cover to tie the 2 batteries together electrically. Mine had nothing there. I soldered a wire between the 2 batteries and used some cardboard under the cover to make sure the batteries were pushed down into their holder. Problem solved!
I can't imagine this is systemic but it happened to me.

My new 1510-IT appears to not even look for the rain guage. From pictures on the box, it should have 2 transmitter reception icons on the display. It has only 1. Thermo/Hydro/Wind sensors were immediately recognized. So far my calls to LaCrosse's tech support have not been returned.
Recently the unit started to display "LL.L" continuously.
The batteries were checked and found to be OK.
The unit is still transmitting, although not being recognised by the Weather Station.
What does it mean ?
Can it be reset.
