Warning Light What does the light mean on the canister that has two prongs on one end and one on the other. The vacuum works fine but the light is on. I changed the bag and filter.

Make sure there is proper power voltage coming from the contacts at the end of the hose.

I would recommend checking where the end of the hose attaches to. On Kenmore vacuums where the end of the hose plugs into the vacuum and to the powerhead there is normally two prongs that plug in to the canister and the power head. It is either one of the ends that is not connecting right especially if you say when the hose is moved. It may also be the cord inside the hose that connects to those prongs might be torn inside the hose or not connecting right to each end.

It could be, the female part of the connector is stretched open. You can usually insert something, like a dart, between the sleeve and the holder, to tighten it. If you paid with Pay Pal, see about getting your money back.

I have a 6000 and it does the same thing. I simply unplug the unit and plug it back in after cleaning the filter and dumping the cannister. That seems to reset the warning system.

If there is no suction when you disconnect the beater bar assembly near the hand hold where you grab the vacuum, then there may be either a restriction in the vacuum line between there and the vacuum section (that rolls around behind you), or the vacuum line from the handle point to the rollaround section is not properly connected. This all assumes the vacuum motor in the rollaround is running.

The beater bar section does nothing but cause dirt particles to be sucked into the vacuum system. The vacuum or suction is created in the rollaround unit.

theres no fuse, you will need a new hose

Give the prongs a wiggle and see if there is any play in them.Might just be a plug end.

Some of these has a reset button to push on the powerhead. Check the plug at the end of the hose handle, is it pushed in, if you push on it and it goes further in, then the tube in the handle will have to be replaced, the holding tab broke off of the tube. Pull the wand off and look at the prongs to see if they are burnt. it they are, then that power cord will have to replace as well as the want.
