some radios are stupid and look only for a voltage on the pin and says yep the brake is on
some radios are clever and look for voltage on the brake pin and also the virecles speed ect
so i recomend that you first connect the brake pin on the radio to ground and test the radio
if it doesnt work then conenct 12V to the pin and see if it works
i recomend that you get someone in the passengers seat and go out for a quick drive to make sure
my radio is the clever one and it knows when the car is moving or not

what i did was put the pink cable(parking brake) and connect it to ground(black) of the stereo harness and then both of them hook it up to the black cable of the car which is ground or negative.
