Front cover open lite and symbol on, can't operate copier, but cover is actually closed

The front door switch or actuator is broken or the door may be warped .Have you tried putting pressure on the front cover? as this may help to indicate if the switch is faulty.

Here are the things that a steady red light may indicate (from the Owner's Manual):

• A paper jam has occurred. To solve the problem, see "Clearing Jams in the Paper Tray". • The front cover is open. Close the front cover. • The top cover is open. Close the top cover. • The paper tray is empty. Load paper in the tray. See "Loading Paper". • A toner cartridge is not installed. Install a toner cartridge. See "Installing the Starter Toner Cartridge".
• A paper jam has occurred. Check the paper tray area.
• The front cover is open. Close the front cover.
• The top cover is open. Close the top cover.
• The paper tray is empty. Load paper in the tray.
• A toner cartridge is not installed. Install a toner cartridge.

this is Door close error.

Check if the door's nose that goes into the sensor hole broken, check the door closed/open switch, Check on connection of the front cover open/close switch (SW3) , Replace the front cover open/close
switch.

It's hard to locate it without service manual, but... if you manage to remove the plastic cover over the toner inlet then you will be able to see the hole where the nose of the door ( inner side of the door ) goes into.

Unlikely the power supply. Sadly I can't think what causes that. I havent workrd on Toshiba for a couple of years now, but there is something else that causes that. Totally unrelated to the power supply or the switch. Have them call Toshiba support .
I am sorry I can't off hand remember the problem. But it is unlikely the power supply.

You need to look for the sensor, and make sure it isn't stuck, or the like, check, the cover. give a few light "Taps" around the sensor.

Sounds like the 'Clear misfeed' symbol. Open the front cover and follow the pictorial diagram instructions to check your paper feed path for jammed paper. Remove misfeed, and close covers. This should reset your machine.

this error indicates 1 of the following.

the front cover is open
the back cover is open
paper jam

usually its the back cover, either its not fully closed or the swing gate inside is not in track with the sensor, it has to be pulled out realigned and put back in.)

also possible there is a little piece of paper jammed inside the front or back area.

Actually, you need to double check the back cover and front cover, open them all to check all paper jam.
Besure to check the back cover, normally all paper jam is from the back.
be sure to close the front cover at the last cover to close.

Have you attemped to open close the front door? Also check all doors that open

The red lite indicates one of the following needs to be looked at:

Cover open (Front cover) Close the front cover.

Cover open (Jam clear cover) Close the jam clear cover of the fuser unit.

Memory full - Press the go button.

Print overrun - Press the go button.

Clean drum unit - Clean the corona wire.
