You might have to enter its service mode option to unlock it. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Check this link and select the site named above. View it in 'Flip card' option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu at the left top corner or the display window. It will make search easy. You can use [BU508AF or C3886A OR D5702] as horizontal output. All of these transistors are equivalent to each other, and is commonly used with RCA TVs. But, if there is a fault with its Horizontal output Transformer, {LOT}, none of these transistors won't last long. They will heat up excessively, and will get shorted. Therefore, check whether the LOT has any trouble. Ask your technician. He will be sound enough how to check it. Mo multimeter check is possible with this component. His experience in service work will help him to troubleshoot this problem.

You are in shutdown protect mode, it may be due to a bad flyback transformer and horizontal output transistor, replace both if one is found bad. RCA is nortorious for flyback High Voltage transformer failure.

good morning to you also. i would suspect a line voltage regulator if my horizontal output transistor runs warm and has irregular on and off cycles. replace this regulator when the set comes on irregularly, the relay clicks, and the set goes into chassis shutdown. most of the time this regulator will have about 5 legs and will start with str30... this regulator should not cost much to purchase at an electronics store. be very careful if you are going to do it yourself thank you and please rate me.

Your defective has defective parts on horizontal section. You need to bring the tv to expert technician,

the horizontal section is not firing up to generate high voltage to produce a raser,requires service possible shorted output transistor,not pricy

there is loose contact on the high voltage section in your tv.what you are going to do is open it,and reheat  with soldering iron and a piece of soldering lead the video chroma section and the high voltage section,near the flyback

your horzontal scannig it not fired up to run the set and produce secondary voltage supplies like video,brightness etc.cal for service possible horizontal out put transistor or flyback .

The brown stuff you see is excess flux and is not hurting anything,you need to check the horizontal output transistor for a short,sometimes this transistor goes bad because loose conections in the horizontal driver transformer and could have been intermitant,if the transistor is shorted it likely took the safety resistor that gives him the volts to operate.It seem you are familiar with tv service but some measurements need to be made with a meter to check for a short.If the transistor is bad it need to be replaced with an exact replacement,check for loose conection anyway very carefully,some are hard to see.
