Apple MacBook Mac Notebook Logo

I own a regular MacBook and it's about a year and a half old. I recently moved into a new apartment and established a new wireless network through Comcast. They gave us a modem/router combo for our internet connection. (Motorola SBG901) Everyone else in the house owns a PC and they have no problems connecting to the internet. Everyone's Iphones also connect with ease. My MacBook, however, will connect to the router but will not run the internet. I've tried both the wireless and ethernet connection and neither of them yield anything but a long loading page then an error saying "No internet connection available." I've tried switching settings on the router and running multiple diagnostics on the laptop but nothing appears to be working. If you guys have any info that could help out I would really appreciate it. - James S.

Hello Jodu,

Please check the internet settings of the Lan connection in the Mac Book. May be there is IP Address or DNS settings is installed in your Mac Book which are stopping the wireless network services. Please check the IPV4 settings in the Lan or wireless connection properties.

Ok I went to the network settings and clicked advanced. I went over to DNS and saw 2 different addresses under the DNS Servers box. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. I can't change or alter them in any way. As far as the IPV4 settings go the only thing I could see was an option to enter an IPV4 address manually. Like i said before the network is saying I'm connected but there's still no internet. Any more ideas?

Remove both the DNS settings and then the wireless network will work.

Since buying my new mid-2013 Macbook Air (13-inch 256GB), my 8-year-old Canon Pixma iP6000D printer will complete only part of a complex document (like a webpage), whether wireless or wired. Simple...

Try printing to PDF and then printing the PDFs to the iP6000D. Make sure you're using the most recent drivers from Canon instead of Apple's. For what it's worth this problem was noted with CUPS drivers on that generation of iP Pixmas both in OS X and Linux. Given the age and the fact the most recent driver's designed for Snow Leopard, it might be time to move on to a newer printer.

Unable to obtain valid IP config

Unplug power to ISP modem, till you see it reboot. Test with a cable to establish you can connect directly with ISP modem. If OK, reconnect with wireless modem. You will have to switch between wireless and regular network adapter on laptop for this test.

Use these instructions to test and see IP's.Go to Start > Search > Type cmd and hit enter key.
In Command Shell:

Type ipconfig /all These are your IP settings.
Type ipconfig /release To clear IP settings.
Type ipconfig /renew For new IP settings.

You will need to check NIC drivers in Device Manager if problem persists.

How do I connect my Macbook to my Kodak wireless printer with my Belkin G+MIMO router?

When you added the WPS encryption ket to your wireless router, this secures your wireless network from unauthorized access to you wireless network.
To allow your wireless computers and wireless printer to communicate with your wireless network the wireless cards in the computers and printer needs to be configured with the WPA encryption settings that you configured in the wireless router.

Hi there, I got an Apple MacBook Pro, OS 10.6.7 and recently got problems connecting to my wireless internet at home. I've got no problems at all connecting to other wlans (at work, at friends'...

So you're knowledgeable, good. Do you have the SSID broadcasting or not? Do you have WEP or WPA, etc active? Can you find the network you are trying to connect to under preferences on your MacBook Pro? Does your network show up? Either way, delete it and start over. If you re-set up your network and it still doesn't find it, but the other machines in your house work wirelessly, it is still a configuration issue. Do you have your wireless network as the default network to find? Do you have a help desk that you can call at your workplace? Give me more details and i'll continue to try and assist.

I cannot access 192.168.0.1 with my Macbook

You should be able to connect wirelessly from your Mac to your Cradlepoint router to obtain this information whether or not the phone is actually connected.
With your router powered up and operational, click the Airport icon on your top menu bar and turn your Airport on. Then click it again and watch for your Cradlepoint's wireless network name to appear. Using whatever WEP or WPA password you previously established, connect to the Cradlepoint.
Now under the Apple menu, choose System Preferences / Network. Select Airport, Advanced, then TCP/IP. (In releases other than Leopard, these choices may differ.) Look at the line marked "Router." That is the address you have to browse to in order to communicate with your Cradlepoint.

Router issues in my apartment.

When to moved into the penthouse, there are more walls between the wireless router and the laptop in the bedroom. The walls are probably reinforced concrete walls which will stop or weaken the radio waves penetrating into different rooms. When you lived in a house this was not a problem.
The only way to solve this problem is to move the wireless router near an opening such as a door and move the laptop as close as possible to the wireless router to get a better signal strength.
The outer way is to install a wireless repeater or connect a long network cable to the router and the laptop.

Macbook 13.3" won't log in to wireless

You need to check your network card software your problem may lay there. I've seen this problem many times in the passed. I will install a wireless network card or software on someones computer and two days later it will not connect everything looks fine. No matter what I do it will not connect. Remove net software for the card or on board wireless reinstall and boom it works fine.
routers may need reset or configured off the internet or the start up cd. I take this a wireless router hooked to internet gateway. don't know not enough information you may need to tell me a little more. first try install of net-card software then set you working router to unsecure no pass word need see if you connect then change it to you wpa password protected.
