The globe for our ceiling fan is broken. How do we get a replacement? It is Turbo Swirl #78144.

You'll have to call Westinghouse. Nobody will have it.

there are usually screws that are around the top of the globe or you have to twist the globe gently.

On that model fan the glass globe should unscrew to get to the bulbs if not they are replaced by going between the blades & the motor to the space in between.

Turbo swirl does actually mean anything it's just a description given by the manufacturer to make the fan sound good and appeal to your senses by making you think it works good. You need to look at the specs on the box and see if it has a recommended square footage of space for the usage. It could also give you something more specific regarding air flow but it may not even have this information.In my opinion I think this fan will be fine for only a 12 by 12 room.

The dome just pulls off.

Turn the light cover counter-clockwise, it just unscrews like a light bulb.

Unscrew the globe counter-clockwise.

Home Depot and Lowes both carry a wide selecction of replacement parts for ceiling fans. You may find a direct replacement or something similar which will please you for your fan. You may find something at your local hardware store or electric supply house. There may be several FixYa.com advertisers which can provide you with the parts you require.

Try calling or e-mailing the fan company to e-mail you the instruction.

My fan has no screws. You simply twist and tug the globe (firmly but easily) and find that it is held on by three "tension clips" that hold the thing in place.

If you are nervous, have someone else get on the other side of the ladder and hold the fan steady while you twist/tug the globe with two hands.

I did it by myself but I would have liked another pair of hands holding the fan steady while I gently but firmly tugged at the globe.
