Inside Dsiplay Not Always on

The inside display that shows the temperature does is not always on. The fridge seems to be cooling and the inside lights come on - but only sometimes does the temperature display show.

The temp control display panel began failing intermittently, but since the fridge maintained proper temp, we decided not to worry. Now, even though we can hear the fridge is on, the temp doesn't seem to be the proper coolness.

Also, periodically the 'door open' sound beeps - even when the door is definitely shut. Opening and reclosing the door stops the beep.

The freezer seems to be working properly - although there was one time a few weeks ago, where the freezer temp raised enough temporarily to make the ice melt slightly. We dumped the ice/water and it seemed to work just fine by the time the icemaker re-filled the tray.

I have had very similar issues with my same model frig. We came home from vac and the first night home, the ice maker completey malfunctioned and dumped water all over my entire kitchen floor flooding the floor and then seeping down into my drywalled portion of our finished basement. The sliding door completely froze shut and we could not open it. Took forever to try to defrost and open and then emptied the ice maker and started over - so far it's been ok up until this past week. The display inside the frig started dimming and flickering intermittinly and now goes completely out at times. The frig seems to run non-stop and I find the food in the freezer starting to defrost. I purchased this at Best Buy 8/06 and fortunatley, I did purchase the extended warranty on it so I have a repair person coming tomorrow to fix. I also noticed that the slide freezer door does not seem to seal properly - so I am constantly pushing ******* the door to make sure it's sealed shut. As of today, it's clicking every 2 seconds and the display inside says -47 for the freezer and -40 for the frig. I experience items freezing in the back of the frig too. Hopefully, it will make it one more day until the repair person arrives. I have to say - I hate this refrigerator! The grill that goes across the bottom is broken and does not stay on, the track inside for the slide drawer broke and is not on the track. It's a waste of money and will never buy another like it again! I can't believe I have to live with this thing for the next 15 years. LOL>

My temp setting does not match my output temp

I have a recurring problem with a GE Profile PSB48LSRABV. Here's an example sequence:
  • Fresh food compartment set to 37F on the control panel (for months)
  • Thermometer in fridge reads 46F (with lots of water inside per manual)
  • Press "Display Temp" button, display shows fridge at 37F
  • Turn power off, count to 15, turn power on, wait for control panel to boot
  • Press "Display Temp" button, display shows fridge at 46F (matches thermometer!)
  • Compressor runs and cools fresh food compartment
  • Hours later thermometer in fridge reads 37-38 (yeah!)
  • Press "Display Temp" button shows fridge at 37F
  • Within days, the fridge is warmer inside again, thermometer inside reads 45+, but display reads 37 - unit needs to be "rebooted" again!
Fresh food thermistor from top of cabinet measured properly in ice water (and warmer water), the unit has always passed all the self-tests, and condensor coils and fan are clean, so I had techs come give it a shot under home warranty:
  • Trip 1 - Tech came to assess, ordered new evaporator fan
  • Trip 2 - Replaced fresh food evaporator fan (note new fan is working in fridge, and old fan works fine on bench)
  • Trip 3 - Ordered main computer PCBA
  • Trip 4 - Replaced main computer PCBA
Unfortunately, it continues the same cycle of misreading the temperature until power cycles, and taking a day off of work for each visit is getting painful.
Any ideas?

Our fridge temperature control is not working. its always high and all the things we keep inside gets spoiled like leaves and vegetables. pls help

Please get the thermostat switch/temperature control switch replaced by a Samsung technician. Also check the cooling gas. If it is less then no proper cooling will be done. This could be the possible cause.

Inside Dsiplay Not Always on

Most likely it is the Main Control Board also called the Motherboard. It is located on the rear of the unit behind the smaller axcess panel. Becareful with the wiring if you attempt to change the board. There is a slight possibilty that it is the dispay board, but it is unlikely.
