Philips 42pf7321d/37 blinking power board question
I have a philips 42 inch plasma 42pf7321d/37.
I had the problem with the blinking Red LED light in the front and then I read on philips website this :"
The latest software solves the issues below:
TV (Plasma 42” and 50”) will not turn ON/shut off itself and Red LED blinks 4- times. Recover if main switch on/off.
so I downloaded the update, put on thumb drive and put in slot on computer and now no more blinking led on front.. Problem was not fixed so I opened the back up and noticed that when I first plug the TV in, I get the 2 LED lights at the bottom of the power board to come on and then go off. Also I get the 2 LED lights in the center bottom and top of the main unit (the one with all the AV connectors) and then the board underneath that same board just mentioned has 2 lED lights that turn on( LED 2010 and LED2011, LED 2010 stays on constant, the other blinks once and then both turn off all within about 2 seconds). And then the LED on the Power board blinks 3 times with a 3 second pause. When I push the power button, I continue to get the blinking alarm led on the power board but the other 2 leds at the bottom of power board do not come on again. neither do the LED 2010 and 2011 mentioned earlier. The only ones that come on are the 2 leds that are on the board that is attached to all the AV inputs. I hope this helps and I hope you can help me. If you need any additional info, please ask. also, I am not an electrician so unfamiliar what some of these boards are called. Figured some out by pictures online so any feedback please don't be so technical I don't know what you are talking about.
figured it is probably vscan so I did what you reccommended in another post and pulled cable and TV stays on but without picture. So what do I do from here???? I am not an electrician so please keep comments to where I could understand them. Ur power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics’ and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get ur tv power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
Most likely it going to be a power supply related problem. The red blinking light is a code for a TV tech to diagnose the problem on the power supply board itself or the board that regulates the power for the screen. Some manufactures call it a Backlight Inverter Board. A TV repair shop should be able to look at it for you and tell you which board is bad.
Replacement boards can be found at a good price at Shopjimmy.com
relay clicking is a power board failure --- part of the board still works to supply power to the flashing lights--- the lights are related to an error code while in protection mode
i would recommend replacing y main and y upper and lower buffer boards based off your troubleshooting as they complete circuit. these samsung boards have an lj92 number on them that will cross to part number. if you find an lj41 number that number is vendor number for circuit board prior to components being placed on board. hope this helps. dan
That blink don't mean nothing. Measurements need to be made. Don't just buy the board troble shooting would need to be done to see witch board is bad. Also look on the fron of the set and see how many time the led flashes. That wher your error code comes from..
my dad had this happen too. after some research, we found out that there are two capacitors on the power supply board right next to the connector for the main logic board that went bad. you can just pull those out and solder in new ones, and it works like new again! i found a repair kit on ebay for $35 including shipping, and that's all it took!
figured it is probably vscan so I did what you reccommended in another post and pulled cable and TV stays on but without picture. So what do I do from here???? I am not an electrician so please keep comments to where I could understand them. Thank you.
