Question
Locked motor error code.
Answer
LE error code: This indicates a locked motor condition. Please check the following conditions. Large loads of laundry can put a strain on the motor causing the LE error code. Try removing some clothing and restart. Excessive suds can cause the LE error code. Make sure the customer is using an HE (High Efficiency) detergent. They should decrease the amount of detergent until the machine washes without suds. A few bubbles can be expected. Areas that have soft water will usually need to use less detergent. If you suspect that excessive suds are the problem, let the machine stand for 30 min (motor cool down) and then run a rinse and spin cycle before restarting the load. If these directions are followed and the code persists, the machine will likely need service. .

Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. Make sure the error is not IE,
which means water has not reached to the pre-set level within 4 min. since
ERROR inlet valve operated or water has not reached to the normal level within
25 min.
The 'LE' error message indicates the control board has
detected that the motor is either not turning, or has locked up for some
reason. Monitoring the motor is the job of the Hall Effect sensor board which
constantly determines the direction and speed of the motor and feeds that
information back to the control board. If there is a problem between what the
motor should be doing and what the hall effect sensor says the motor is doing,
the 'LE' will be displayed and the cycle will be stopped.
Motor lock can be caused by several things from a loose connector, to a bad
motor, or even the hall effect sensor failing or dislodging from it's mount.
Any one or more of these components could have caused this error, but it is
possible to separate the working from the non-working, just by following a process.
To make sure its not a locked motor, try turning the drum
with your hand. And, if you feel some resistance while turning the drum or the
drum doesn’t move freely then the motor is locked and you’ll need to get it
replaced.
The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by
a seven year part warranty (in US). Take the back cover off. Take the big nut
off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings.
Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding.
Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
LG's 'LE' stands for 'Lock Error' indicating that there is a problem either with the door lock or the door locked sensor requiring a service call, sorry ;-0(
If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!
