Turned on RV air conditioner, unit works until temperature is reached, when air temp is raised in RV and a/c unit tries to restart, it trips the breaker.
I'm having the same problem tried a new thermostat and cleaning unit inside and out and still the same results. Seems like a control board not working.

UNITS THEMOSTAT IS BAD REPLACE THERMOSTAT IF DONT SOLVE PROBLEM MAKE SURE UNIT IS NOT FREEZING UP AND BOUNCING OFF A "FREEZE STAT" CASING COMPRESSOR TO SHORT CYCLE
Heat real hot? Is this a heat pump or do you have a heat strip installed. Get a regular thermometer and put it in the outgoing vents of the unit. Register the temperature there and then the outside temp. If it is cooling at 17 to 23 degrees below ambient temperature, the manufacturer says this is fine. Try cleaning the condenser out on the top of the rv. Gently hose the rear condenser out until all the dirt and grime is removed the unit. Try cooling again and see if it is better.
If unit was freezing up the air flow would normally stop, until the unit is turned off and allowed to thaw. I suspect evaporator blower may have a worn out belt, or compressor is shutting off due to control or internal overheat. What is the age of the unit?
I don't think you need a new one just a good cleaning and service. The unit has a liquid high temperature line near the compressor with a fan blowing outside air across it this coil gets clogged over time with air-borne dirt and pollen and leaves and such and must be cleaned regularly or the unit will be unable to remove the heat from the coil and during the peak demand (3pm) the circuits that protect the compressor and the trailer wiring from being overloaded and burning or melting will trip. From what you have described it sounds like the RV is working as it should with a condenser coil that needs to be cleaned. GL and happy camping! P.S. I've only serviced the occasional RV unit but in those cases I laid a piece of plywood on top of the Rv for work platform removed the retaining screws from the top cover and used a spray bottle with a good heavy foaming cleaner a shop-vac and a brush to get the job done.
