I'm working in InDesign on a Mac, but I'm working for someone who wants me to mimic their Adobe Acrobat Distiller settings in Windows to create .pdfs for print. They want me to distill the pages I'm creating with OUTPUT settings set to "Composite gray". But every way I try to do this, it won't let me click that box unless I've set it to print to my desktop printer.

Part of the OS has PDF built in. Create your document in the program of choice then select file print. One of your option on the bottom left of the print dialog is to print to pdf. Select that then hit okay and it will save the file as a pdf.

Hi.
It is difficuld to determine if Irfanview is the problem.
I suggest to uninstall the Irfanview programme and try again.
Go to Controle Panel - install/uninstall programs and uninstall Irfanview.

There is a version of Adobe Acrobat Distiller included with your PageMaker installation disks. Put your installation disk in your CD drive and follow the prompts to install the distiller program.

From what I understand, Adobe Distiller is not a separate product that can be purchased. The only place I have seen Distiller included with is a copy of Adobe Acrobat Professional.

I sadly and unexplainably uninstalled my adobe acrobat distiller and reader. I design on pagemaker 6.5 which is requesting me to download acrobat distilller 4.x or 5.x. Is there a free download somewhere...

Look no further than the original 6.5 pagemaker CD installation disks under the extras you will find the distiller and you can install it from there, it will work for InDesign as well.

I can't open acrobat distiller. i cant make pdf from indesign.

acrobat is code designed there is the basic acrobat reader but the distiller you need to run a write program like word perfect so that it concepts the pdf design
