Here is the solution to help you out to do the port forwarding as you wished sir..

need find out how portforward - 2wire-gateway-1921681254-300x234.png Once you have accessed your default gateway screen for your router, you will then want to click on the firewall tab at the top of the screen. After the firewall summary screen opens, you will then click on the firewall settings tabs to begin setting up an open port on your 2wire dsl router.
Once the firewall setting screen opens you can then add an open port to your specific pc. Under step 2 you will see a list of predefined applications that have already been created for certain video games, servers and telephony (VoIP) services. Since in my example we are opening a port for Utorrent, we are going to manually configure port forwarding for one of my pc's. To be opening a port for Utorrent, click on "add new user-defined application" you can find the link just below the list on the left side of the screen.
2wire-edit-firewall-settings-300x234.png Once you click on add new user-defined application, you should have a window that resembles the one below. Within this window you should now be able to enter a name for the application that you are opening a port for. Underneath the application name, you know have the choice of either tcp or udp, and then you would enter a port number or a port range that yoneed find out how portforward - 2wire-add-user-definition-300x234.pnguploads/images/2wire-add-user-definition-300x234.png" alt="2wire-add-user-definition-300x234.png" class="h_mi" /> For security reasons, you should only open one port, unless the application specifies otherwise. The more ports that you have open on you router, the more doorways you open for hackers and viruses to enter your home network. Since we are opening a port for Utorrent, you are going to want to click on the tcp box and then enter the port number that Utorrent gives you, in my example I am opening up port number 51225. After you have entered you port number, click the add definition button. Once you have added the definition, yoneed find out how portforward - 2wire-utorrent-open-tcp-port-300x234.pngbutton.
2wire-utorrent-open-tcp-port-300x234.png After you have clicked the back button, you should now be at the edit firewall settings screen. All you have to do now is select your computer from the list that is listed After you have selected the computer that Utorrent will be hosted on, all you have to do is find the recently created user defined definition from the list under number 2. After you have located the Utorrent port forwarding application simply click on the add button, which should assign the Utorrent port forwarding application to your computer. After you have completed the above steps, you should be all set; now your Utorrent program should download and upload at a faster speed.

I have used Uttorent as an Example for you to have an idea how to do the work.. if you still have any problems or question just send a message i will get to you as soon as possible..

My xbox 360 won't connect to xbox live as a wireless connection. i am with talk talk.net. it was fine when i was a btinternet customer

You probably have to forward the proper port on the new router that talk.net gave you. Go to http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm and look up your router for detailed instructions on how to accomplish this.

Xbox Live requires these ports to be open:
Port 88 (UDP)
Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
Port 80 (TCP)

For video chat on Kinect:
1863 (UDP and TCP)

When i connect to xbobx live it says my NAT is not open and onlone gameplay is slow. how do i fix?

NAT is network address translation, this is what allows multiple device on your home network communication through one portal to the internet and still retain individual data streams.
To resolve this issue you need to enable uPnP on your router/wireless router. This depends on your router but you will need to login in to the configuration page of your router, usually by browsing on your local network to http://192.168.1.1 and logging in. Once logged in to the router you will need to click around to find the UPnP option and enable it. This may restart your router but after that fire up XBOX live and try to connect, you issue should be resolved.

Trying to set NAT type to open so I can play on Xbox Live without any problems.

You are trying to open the NAT on the router for X-box.
For this you will need to reduce the MTU settings on the
router to 1365.
You will also need to trigger some ports on the router.
For this you will need to open the router set up page.
Router set up page is the page where you can change the
settings of the router
Make sure that the UPnP is enabled on the router.

What does nat type is strict mean

It simply means that you'll be able to join fewer games and connect with fewer other players.

To change your NAT type to 'Open', which is what you want, you need to open certaIn ports on your wireless router or your firewall.

IF YOU'RE USING A ROUTER:

Here are a list of ports that you should open.
  • TCP 80
  • UDP 88
  • UDP 3074
  • TCP 3074
  • UDP 53
  • TCP 53
If you need help with opening (or 'forwarding' as it is also known as) use this website:

PortForward.com

If your exact router model isn't listed just use a model which is close because the firmwares are usually quite similar so the instructions won't be too different.

IF YOU AREN'T USING A ROUTER:

Use one of the following guides to help you open ports on your Windows PC:

Windows XP

Windows Vista

Windows 7

I hope this helps, mate.

My nat is moderate. how do i fix it to make it more open

You can simply forward ports. I believe you are using XBOX 360. Here are the ports that you need to open

3074 TCP
3074 UDP
88 UDP
80 TCP
53 TCP
53 UDP

You can open those ports using your router's Port Forwarding feature. To know more about portforwarding, you visit www.portforward.com

Port setting to allow my xbox to run games

Hello djand2kidz,

Inorder to resolve this we need to open application ports for the Xboxconnection. This problem can be resolve by any of the following:

  1. Opening port Numbers TCP 88, TCP/UDP 3074
  2. Lowering MTU size and Disabling SPI
  3. Enabling UPnP
  4. Enabling DMZ
  5. Upgrading the firmware of the router.
  6. Set NAT filtering to open (Only available on WGR614v6, v7, and v8)
Here are theoptions on how your Xbox connected to the internet. Opening Port Numbers TCP 88, TCP/UDP 3074:
1. Make sure that Xbox has valid IPaddress of the same range of the Netgear router.
2.
Assign static IP address on Xbox. The following values should be used while assigning static IP address on theXbox.

IP Address: 192.168.1.x (e.g. 192.168.1.200)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Note: Here ‘x’ can be any uniquenumber from 2 to 254 depending upon the IP address assigned to remainingcomputers in your network.

3. Oncestatic IP address is assigned, the requisite port numbers can be open using thesteps below.

a. Open the browser(Internet Explorer or Netscape) and type the IP address of the Router(192.168.1.1) in the address bar.
b. It will prompt youto Login into the Router (Username = “admin” & Password = “password”).
c. Select "Port Forwarding" under "Advance"
d. Select "Port Forwading" under "Service Type"
e. Click on "Add Custom Service"

What is portforwarding

You need to login to your router and go to firewall or virtual servers.  In there you can setup port forwarding.  The goal is to forward external (internet) traffic to a specific internal machine (your PS3).  You do this on a per TCP/UDP port basis and must specify the appropriate external TCP and/or UDP port and internal TCP and/or UDP port.  Sounds harder than it is.
Or you can setup your PS3 in your router's DMZ (Demiliterized Zone).  This sets up the router to forward ALL internet sourced traffic to a specific machine (your PS3).  This is the easier way to do it so you don't have to worry about specific TCP/UDP port numbers.
