Whirlpool double oven - AKZ161/AV
After short electricity failure we are unable to reset the clock and use the bottom (main fan)oven. The display continues to show 'stop'. We have previously reset the time many times over past years.
I have the same on this appliance usually if the bottom oven has been operating at over 200 degrees. I have managed to reset the clock in the past by turning the over switch off and on again after a day or so, but I can't get it to work this time.I have the same on this appliance usually if the bottom oven has been operating at over 200 degrees. that isn't a model number,if you look at the touch panel does it say clock anywhere on it?if so touch it and it will tell you what to do.what happened to the clock did you lose power? if so the computer board could have been damaged, send the model number off of the wall oven.when you find it google it and you should find a manual for it online or utube
HI,
Sounds like you need a repair person to check out the power to your display (clock), If your clock has power but will not display you could need either the transformer (low voltage 12 volts) or a ERC (which is the clock). Lately I have noticed transformers have been on the rise in several of these models. Also the transformer is alot cheaper than the ERC. If you can test this, you will find the connection you need is on the board as you tip the control panel, you will find the light blue wire bottom right of the control board. If you have 12 volts to the clock there, your clock is bad, in not your transformer has failed.
If you have never done anything like this call someone to help you, Be safe with electricity!!!
I hope this helps

Cancel key drive line open
1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board). 2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).
power to the main oven has to go through the oven clock if time is not set main oven will not work also if clock set on auto time rather than manual oven will not work conversley if clock is faulty it will not work top oven is unaffected as oven clock auto timer cannot be used on top oven.try resetting power of and on again reset time on clock if clock not faulty oven will now work.
If it is fan assisted, and the fan is working o/k, then the chances are it is the element.
This is usually located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.
Normally a straightforward repair
MAKE SURE POWER IS OFF !!!!

Thankyou.
If the clock is blank, then the main oven will not work, as the clock timer is linked with the main oven.
You need to to get the clock working, or you will not be able to use the main oven
When you turn the main oven on, does the oven fan switch on?
When you turn the main oven on does the cooling fan come on?
Does the dial illuminate when the oven is turned on?
Does the oven thermostat neon come on the the oven is switched on?
Have you had a power failure recently and have not set the clock?
Are you sure that the clock/timer is NOT set and in manual mode?
There are two things that you can check. one is your circuit breaker itself and the other is the internal terminal block that the main wires feed into. the terminal block could have loose wires which will cuase an intermittant PF to appear on the oven, disconnect from power before checking. The voltage at the oven will have to be checked with a multimeter to verify the proper levels. Be sure to be extra careful around electrical connections while the oven is connected to power.
