> FAT ALLOC ERROR

FAT == File Allocation Table (like a 'Table of Contents' in a printed book)

ALLOC == Allocation

ERROR == ERROR

Some of the contents of that 'Table of Contents' are invalid.

So, copy all the files from the Memory Card onto your computer, to save a copy of those files.

Burn a CD/DVD disk with a copy of those files.

Then, "reformat" the Memory Card, to write a "new" and "empty" 'Table of Contents' onto the device.
Then, copy all the files back onto the Memory Card.

SOURCE: Sir, my microsd card shows

Sounds like it is not formatted for your mobile device. If you can, with the card inserted into the mobile device, format the card and see if that corrects the problem.

When I enter my flash card it keeps saying fat error

The card format is fat32, which defines how the files are stored and accessed.
If the file allocation table is corrupt, (FAT error) the system can no longer find your files.
It MAY be possible to recover some but most likely they are gone.
To re-use the card you will have to reformat it, either in your PC or whatever device (like a camera) you normally use it in.,
It is generally a sign of a card coming to the end of its life, and may occur again.

How to fix No Bootable Media Error Message

FAT (File Allocation Table) is one of the most widely used file systems used now-a-days with various versions of Windows operating systems and memory cards. Every logical partition contains a FAT that consists of file allocation information and the information of free allocation units that need to be assigned to files. Although the FAT file system is reliable, corruption still occurs due to various reasons. In such situations of FAT corruption, your system becomes unbootable, resulting into inaccessibility of data saved in FAT based hard drive. To access the data after FAT file system damage, an easy way is to restore the data from an updated backup. But, with inaccessibility of data backup or backup falling short to restore the required data, an ideal option left is to use an advanced FAT Data Recoveryapplication that can recover the lost data.

To illustrate the above scenario, consider a practical case the below error message pops up when you attempt to boot your system:

“No Bootable Media”

As the above error message appears at the time of booting the system, you wont be able to access the data saved in the hard drive.

Cause:

The above error message because the FAT file system has been corrupted. Few main causes for file system damage are improper system shutdown, human errors, and virus attack.

Resolution:

To isolate the above error message and to access the data after the above error message appears, you will need to follow the below steps:

Run CHKDSK utility to repair the FAT file system. If the problem persists, format the hard drive.

While the latter resolution resolves the above error message completely, it also deletes the data saved on your hard drive. In such cases, if the backup is not available, then you can only recover your formatted data by using an advanced third-party FAT Data Recovery software.

A FAT Partition Recovery utility thoroughly scans a FAT based hard drive and recovers almost all data, even after formatting. The data recovery utility can be downloaded from the Internet.

Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery is an efficient FAT Partition Recovery tool that recover lost, deleted, and formatted data from both FAT (FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, VFAT) and NTFS (NTFS, and NTFS5 ) based hard drives. The detailed help manual attached with the tool allows even a new user to perform recovery easily without any technical knowledge. It supports Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2003, and 2000.

File system error: FAT is corrupted

> FAT is corrupted

FAT === File Allocation Table

Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press Enter
Type CHKDSK C: /F
Press Enter
When you're asked to allow "Check Disk" to run at the next restart of Windows, click YES.
Restart your computer.
The "Check Disk" will run -- it may automatically restart your computer as soon as it finishes "fixing" the corruption.

Pioneer AVH-P5000DVD stereo USB Error 23

I had the same problem with my Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD. Just got my 16GB sandisk micro cuzer in the mail from Radio Shack. Here is what I did to solve it:
  1. Copied all the files that came with the Sandisk device to another location (in case I need them again)
  2. Copied all the music I had put on the Sandisk since I got it to another location
  3. Using a Windows PC, I right clicked on the drive in Windows Explorer and selected "format"
  4. I re-formatted the cruzer mini to FAT 32, default size (yes, I know it was FAT 32 already)
  5. Copied the music back to the cruzer mini
  6. Plugged it into my radio and it works GREAT! instant access to any track
Before you do this: Reformatting the drive also gets rid of the software that makes the cruzer mini copy files super fast. It will take a lot longer to copy music to the drive. For me this is no big deal as the only reason I bought the drive was to put a bunch of music on it and then leave it in my truck.
