I have trouble with this stroller when pushing it over uneven territory like grass or a gravel path. What I have found helps is to lock the front wheels in place (the back wheels would normally already be locked) while pushing it on the uneven ground. You have to steer just by pushing it but it makes the overall pushing easier. When I am on even ground, like a sidewalk or at the mall, I keep the front wheels unlocked.
If indeed you jave lost the front skewer thenyou can easily replace it as all front skewers are the same. The rear one is longer. Dont forget the two small springs as well
I fixed this by cutting up an old Blockbuster video rental card into a C shape that would fit over half the wheel well where the metal locking mechanism would come up. That front wheel will never lock again as long as the C shape card is in place. Here's how I did it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTxByRh71ew
If you are seeing the front drive shaft turn,Then it is in four wheel drive, Your truck has automatic lock in hubs,The most common problem with Rangers is that the lock in hubs get worn and wont keep the axle engaged to the wheel, If you go to Auto zone they have new lock in hubs for around $50.00 Or you could up grade and get hubs that you manually turn and lock in.
When you click the wheel release (to make them go onto swivel mode) press a little harder as it sounds like you haven't fully engaged the release mechanism.
