When I try to print I get an error and it won't print. The error message never shows up so I don't know what the error is. I have removed and reinstalled this printer 6 times now. I have rebooted my computer and the printer. I did get one message that said "spooler service not available". I haven't seen that one since the first time the problem started. Sometimes the printer disappears from the printer option in the control panel altogether and sometimes it copies the printer.

Check that you are using the correct escape characters.
in printerparameter check that you are on auto
else check in the driver you are using esc LF Nul or {'} characters.
last if in serial mode check the communication parameters
default 9600,n,8,1 (no partity 1 stop bit, 8 data bits)

I have this copier too but only use it as a copier in my classroom. It's a stand alone. But can't print. There is no software to install on a computer so I don't know how to fix it if there's no software.

I have the same problem. Everything on the printer is working just fine. It'll do a test page just fine, so everything's working right. The %$^ thing just won't print. It makes noise like it's printing when you give it a print job, but it spits out blank pages.

Some printers require you to have the color cartridges in them even when you are printing black and white. You usually can in your print options choose black and white over color.

This means you are using a pirated operating system in your pc you can solve by using the Genuine operating system.

Did you receive any error message when you tried to install? Most of time, if you don't have administrative privilege to the system, you won't be able to install. Let me know you received any error message

Kodak ESP-5 error message 3515....tried Kodak way but didn't work....could hear the print head attempt to move but couldn't...unplugged unit from power....opened to expose the print cartridges...removed small screws on sides and back of printer...gently pry open top....turn gears on right side with finger toward front several turns.....check and see if print head will now move to center....(I removed cartridges and print head so I could see the blotter under print head move to back position. Re-installed print head and cartridges.) plugged power cord back in and turned on...unit cycled and then screen showed normal....replaced screws in top panel.....printed test page...back in operation......Don't be heavy handed....plastic will break very easy I think when opening panel if not careful...

Well, if the electronic circuit on the cartridge has blown, you have no other alternative then to buy a new cartridge. You can remove the cartridge and gently wipe the cartridge contacts. Turn off your printer, wait for a few min, then turn it back on. Put the cartridge back.
If that doesn't work,

1. Open the cartridge access door.
2. Remove either cartridge (not both).
3. Close the cartridge access door.
   • If the computer message is Print Cartridge Error , then the print cartridge that is still in the printer is the problem cartridge.
   • If the computer message is NOT Print Cartridge Error (instead, it says that the cartridge you have removed is ...Either missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed ), then the cartridge you have removed is the problem cartridge.

There is a cmos battery in the printer, and, yes, when you remove it, the printer forgets everything (serial number, number of copies, etc). I have found a clip, but it says it only works for some HP printers. You can try that, but I am not sure that will help solve your problem.
