Make sure all fans are running,defective Fan can cause this,also Ballast board is what powers Lamp on. If ballast is bad Lamp will not light.

SAMSUNG dlp tv wont come on..trys too them goes off before pic appears and flashes red and green light not light in middle..model is HLT5055WX/XAA

There are so many possibilities... If you are SURE that the lamp is good (did you take it out & look at it?) Easiest: When you turn on the tv, do you hear a 'whirring' sound coming from the back? If you do, is it a 'smooth' sound or is it rough, scratch, & noisy?. If it is smooth, or if there is no sound, next place to check is the power supply. If it is rough & noisy, it is a bad color wheel. Unless you REALLY know what you are doing, anything other than a lamp replacement should be left to a professional repair person.

Are you sure about the color wheel and the lamp? Make sure the lamp is Osram brand or it may not work.

Nope. It appears that you now have a main power supply issue since the set is dead.

Inspect the lamp first to see if shattered--set has a self check feature also:

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and getthe regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons togetherfor about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filtercover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cablebetween FMT and Engine disconnected

A continuous flashing red light with the word LAMP on it would definitely mean you're going to need to spend a few bucks on a new lamp....or for a few more, upgrade to a TV from this century that doesn't require lamp changes :)

When the TV has been powered on long enough for the lamp unit to get hot, it may take several minutes for the picture to appear on-screen
in the following situations:
• When the Quick Restart™ feature is set to OFF and you turn the TV off and then on again within a few minutes.
• If the TV is on when a short-term power failure, power surge, or other similar power failure occurs, such that the TV loses and regains
power within a few minutes.
This is a property of DLP TV lamp technology and is NOT a sign of malfunction.
If this occurs, the green LED on the TV front panel will blink (and the red LED will be lit solid) until the TV is finished restarting the lamp
and the normal picture appears. If BOTH green and red LEDs are blinking at a one-second rate, you will need to turn the TV off and then
on again to restart the lamp.

I replaced the lamp and it still doesn't work

You can try to reset the lamp timer. Check your manual to see how. If that doesn't help, your power supply may be bad. Then you should seek a repair service.

The Power Light is Red

yeah, should stay red when unit is turned off, indicating there's power but it's doing nothing.

Per user manual:
Solid red - power off (standby mode)
blinking red - power off (now cooling)
blinking green - power on (preparing to light lamp)
solid green - power on

PT-45LC12 wont power up

You have a bad lamp. The "clicking" sound you hear is the ballast (lamp power supply) attempting to start the lamp. The warning on Panasonics that comes up on screen does so when the life expectancy of the lamp is approaching. Otherwise your "clicking" sound and the red light on front are saying bad lamp. When you replace the lamp remeber to follow the instruction that Panasinc provides with the new lamp on restetting the lamp timer. This is usually done with the volume down on the TV and the PIP button on the remote.
