Welcome to Fixya
Hi. Since you already tried and test all major troubleshooting that should fixed the problem, and yet still geting same result. I that suggest that you need replace the Printhead. In most cases, cleaning the printhead by soaking it to a warm water for about 1 1/2 hour would clear/break the solid debris that is clogging the printhead. Try that first before getting a new printhead.

Hi there,
If you've just recently replaced an ink cartridge and the printed page is entirely blank, contains blank gaps or missing text:
1) Make sure you've removed the protective shipping tape or vent tape. This is easily overlooked but is quite simple to remedy. On HP, Lexmark, Dell and similar disposable print head cartridges, you'll find a strip of plastic film on the bottom of the cartridge covering the printhead. This tape is used to seal and protect the printhead during shipping. It prevents ink from entering the printhead where it dries to form an ink clog.
On Epson, Canon and Brother ink cartridges, for fixed print head inkjet printers, you'll see a tear off strip, usually with a graphic which indicates that the tag is to be pulled. The tear off strip seals the the vent holes on the top of the cartridge to prevent it from drying out on the shelf or during shipping.
After ensuring that the shipping tape has been removed, run the printer's "Head Cleaning" utility to prime the cartridge, then print a test page.
2) If your printed output still indicates clogged ink nozzles:
1.From inside a software application such as MS Word or Notepad, go to the File menu and click "Print".
2.Click on your printer in the list to select it.
3.Click on the "Preferences" button and the "Utilities" or "Maintenance" tab
4.Locate and run the "Head Cleaning" utility at lease once but no more than 3 times consecutively.
5.Print a test page.
Hope this helps!
yes it is most of the time but some manufacturers change it to a different color.
yep make sure that you dab it dry before you reinstall. after it dries try to do a test print.
Do the ink still come out of the cartridge? if it stopped now go ahead and try to install the cartridge. When you said open are referring to a hole like open or is it something else?
Have you removed a metal like object? because the film I'm referring to should be like a plastic strip.
You might have pulled off the contacts for the cartridge. It should been fitted tightly in the housing cartridge how did you take it out?
If you just picked them off by your hand and the contacts are still there then there's nothing to worry about. Has the ink stopped flowing from the cartridge? once it stops reinstall and try to print. Or if it doesn't stop then something is wrong with the way that cartridge was asembled. (bad cartridge) replacement would be necessary.
It depends on the manufacturer of the ink if there should be holes in there. Do ink still leak from that hole you are referring to? if it does don't put it in the printer. If there's no more ink leaking or if the leaking has stopped put it in and try to print. If you are having second thoughts about it then a replacement ink cartridge would be the next step to take.
No problem keeping this ticket open Be sure to come back before 7 days or it automatically closes. Thanks.

Usually answered in minutes!
Is this film sort of gold tinted?
I peeled off one or two of them. I take it has to be completely removed. I noticed that ink comes out now. Is this normal? Should dab it off so it is dry before re-install?
So after the the tape is removed will there be two slot open?
This tape was metal clad. I may of pulled off too because now there are 2 slots open on the bottom of the print heads
Seems like I removed plastic tape clad with aluminum. I think I may have removed the wrong tape film. Now there are 2 open slots on the bottom of each print head
Picked it off with my finger nail. The four electrical contacts are still there. I think now if ink went in to the print head it would run all over the inside of the HP 9130. I think I may have had some bad print heads that needed replacement anyhow.
Are the contacts on the front side near the top? Should there be 2 open slots on the bottom?
I am having second thoughts for sure because if there's any ink in the printhead it would run right out of it. I think I will get replacements for that reason and the print blank spaces. I think they were getting old. Can I keep this ticket open until I get replacements and see what happens then?
Should have the new print heads tomorrow
Well I got the new printheads and removed the tape and installed. Now the Officejet works fine. It performed an automatic alignment, and I ran a test copy and it looked good. Appreciate your help.
