• you can verify if the Sony Vaio Event Service has been started (by ctrl+alt+del, then Processes)
• Install keyboard driver (http://www.sony.co.in/support/product/vpceb46fg, then Downloads, etc )
  

It is required to install the hard disk SATA drivers in the computer first. Download and extract the SATA drivers in a floppy drive, hard drive or CD on a different computer. Then, retsrt the computer by having the Windows XP disc inserted and beging the setup. During the setup process press the F6 key and enter>enter and then install the SATA drivers. Then, continue with the further setup process.

You may need to reformat your Vaio. Some important components of your operating system may be corrupted.

But before you reformat, you might want to give it a shot & go to safe mode. If you're able to go to safe mode, you can save important files like pictures, documents, etc.

To go to safe mode, keep pressing the F2 button when you turn your laptop on.

Just choose safe mode & you should be all set.

If it won't go to safe mode, then you can proceed & reformat your laptop.

hello,

what you may have to do is write the OS on an other computer by linking the hard drive of the laptop to a computer with a CD ROM drive. after you write the OS on the hard drive you place it back on the laptop with no drives.
