Hello.

The most common reasons for power issues are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement. If a power jack problem, it should be addressed by someone knowledgeable.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Hope this helps.

Hp probook 6455b will not turn on why?

Take everything out of it that you can. That would mean the ram and drives, see if it boots. IF it does, then put the ram back and check it again. If it does put the hard drive back etc. If you get to the point that it wont boot with nothing installed then it could be a dead cmos battery or a loose CPU or something like that or a bad mother board.

Blinking light on laptop?

From Hp the blinking light indicates sleeping mode. Suggest you push the power button for 20 to 30 seconds. The light should go out. Repower on the computer. If it goes back to blinking mode then there is a hardware issue.

MY HP 60 235DX WILL NOT TURN ON. I TOOK BATTERY OUT AND HELD DOWN POWER BUTTON, PLUGGED IT BACK IN AND IT STILL WILL NOT WORK. NO POWER LIGHT WHEN THE POWER CORD IS PLUGGED IN. BUT WHEN I DO PLUG IN...

fan turns? hear it and feel it.blow.? in must.
cd drive ejects? (button)
no text ever on the screen? this is first. all else more complex.
do the flash light trick?
http://www.pcdied.com/monitors.html#flashlighttest

no beeps
no flashing caps lock key (codes) if yes, what code.
step one is get BIOS and its screens working
even using and external VGA monitor will help.
and the magic Fn+F4 key to turn that on.
hp is down this morning...(support pages)

the G60 series uses a CCFL lamp, that blows out (easy)
or its inverter.
if external monitor works, and flashlight trick works
CCFL back lamps are dead.

Laptop does not start!!!! Hi, I have a problem that maybe you can help me with. I have a HP Pavilion tx-2510us, I turned it off and now it just refusses to start. I tried several different ways of...

yes, we have like 1000000000 posts here, LT does not start.
endless it is.... and few come backs, to show whats up.
its always the same reasons, short list.

Ok, not on time did you say the word BIOS>
did you know BIOS works with HDD/SSD removed
forget the OS for now,
if the BIOS ok called up the screen is ok
if not, then its a catastrophic failure.
you can even boot it with external, screens, 15pin pin VGA.
if not its DEAD if BIOS IS DEAD, that is a clear 100% dead
with battery out.,
so the power pack is bad.
ever consider that, i keep them as spares, so if on say vacation
mine blows out, i have a backup.

with a good power pack
the MOBO will work
and will beep if you remove RAM.
with special beeps, beeps are BIOS code running,...
if it cant beep the MOBO is toasted.

I uses a voltmeter on the rear of the power jack
19vdc is spec (the pack side tells you that in clear text)
ok its got power. (even with power button pushed)

ok power good, push power botton
and i must get beeps BIOS
one or the other, even with

here are the LED flash codes on my hp 8540.
hp.com has yours too, if you RTM ,read the service manual. for free

nice how fixya wrecks photos. sad
the blinks mean,
gpu dead
bios dead
cpu dead
ram dead
and more, this laptop dont beep it only blinks
so you must read the book to learn what YOURS does.
