It seemed there is no Modulo function in fx-100MS. But Mod is just the remainder of a division operator.

So if you have A mod B = C, divide A by B, subract the remaining whole number, and multiply it by B to get C.

Example:

7 mod 4 = 3

In the Calculator:

7 / 4 = 1.75, then 1.75 - 1 = 0.75. Then 0.75 x 4 = 3

  • Anonymous Feb 10, 2012

    In the Calculator : 7/4=1.75 then press a b/c button(Fraction Button).
    1 L 3 L 4 , The middle portion i.e. 3 will be the Result of 7 mod 4

Hey that solution too works for large numbers.... Thank you
For e.g
1) 130 mod 26
130 / 26 = 5
5 - 5 = 0
0 * 5 = 0

2) 398 mod 26
398 / 26 = 15.30
15.30 - 15 = 0.30
0.30 * 26 = 7.8 = 8

5= 4x+27 / 3.....Can this equation be solved on a casio plus?

Assuming you meant "5 = (4x +27) * 3^-1", if you enter the values as "((5 * 3) - 27)/4", I'm sure the calculator can handle that.

I cant find my Antilog button on my Casio fx-100MS

The common antilog is the shifted function of the "log" button (marked 10-superscript-x) and the natural antilog is the shifted function of the "ln" button (marked e-superscript-x). The log and ln buttons are both on the third row of the keyboard.

I need to calcualte 4587 mod 8 how do i do this on the casio fx-115MS? (there's no 'mod' button) Many thanks

The lack of a mod function makes this more than a bit painful. Here's one way:

Press MODE 4 to go into BASE-N (integer) mode. If the display doesn't read "Dec", press the x^2 key. Now calculate 4587-4587/8*8 (press 4 5 8 7 - 4 5 8 7 / 8 * 8 =, where * is the multiply and / is the divide).

You can calculate other mod problems the same way. a mod b is a-a/b*b.

Press MODE 1 to return to your previously scheduled calculations.

How to calculate 24124 mod 19937 in casio fx-991Ms calculator

The MOD function simply returns the remainder that is left over after dividing the two numbers.

In this case, its possible to see quite easily that only 1×19937 can be taken from 24124 before the remainder is less than 19937. The MOD function is therefore the same as 24124 - 19937 = 4187.

In cases that are less obvious, do the division, ie 24124 ÷ 19937 = 1.210011536[34]
[The last two digits are hidden on the display but still used in subsequent calculations].
Then obtain the fractional part by subtracting 1 to give 0.210011536[34]. Then multiply the answer by 19937 to give 4187. Assuming that you haven't cleared the screen between each section of the calculation, the screen will show "Ans×19937 [=] 4187".

How to get mod on it

If you are thinkink of the modulo function, usually shortened to mod(, I am sorry to say it but that function does not exist on the calculator.
However, there is MODE button that one uses to set the operation mode of the calculator.
You have three principal mode setting
COMP: the general computational mode
SD: a statistics mode to calculate Standard Deviations
REG: to perform REGression analyses on statitical data.

Once you have chosen the preferred calculator mode (COMP, SD, or REG) other choices (dependent on the main calculator mode) will be available.
