SOURCE: My sewing machine bobbin won't spin to rethread the bobbin.
is the area free from any dust or threads? when was the last time you had oiled your machine?

when you have bunching on the bottom, you have a problem with the top thread: no tension. (and visa versa) Make sure the thread runs through the tension discs, these discs are activated when you put the presser foot down, so you want to thread the machine with the foot up, also feel if there no burrs, hooks, or whatever, so your top thread comes smooth off the spool, no jerking.

Did you remember to tip the clutch on the end to being flat when you were done with the bobbin winding?
The disk tips to disengage the works while winding bobbins.

make sure the machine is threaded according to the operations manual & the tension adjustment is according to the operations manual says
make sure the needle is not bent, and also the correct needle for the machine & fabric
if none of these work it needs to be taken in to be check
did you get the needle in correctly--all the way up into the needle holder
& the flat side of the needle goes to the back of the machine
also after you check the needle & it's in correctly it's very possible that the machine is out of time & a sewing machine repair technican would have to retime the machine
