Your functions key on the top of the keyboard will have a blue antena icon on it. Most of the time its F9. You will also see a function key on the bottom left of the keyboard, a blue "Fn" key.

Press Fn and F9 (or the key with antena) together. Your wireless will be on.

Below is the image of the Notebook keyboard, the key to be pressed in highlighted in Red.

Cindy, you may have inadvertently turned off the wireless receiver on the side of the laptop. look for a switch it will be a slide switch on the side or even a push button on the top and make sure you have it on.

How i do keep my wireless switched on

There should be an option to "automatically connect" when it detects the network. Look for a checkbox.

create the menu tab on your homepage right click in the top toolbar you should see a number of toolbar options select the menu tab which will add File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help

click on the tools at the bottom of the drop down list will be internet options in the connections tab tick in the box never dial a connection

below that will be change search defaults click on settings you will see all search providers you
have if dont need any of them you can disable or remove them

Power on the laptop computer and wait for the operating system to boot before proceeding.

Right-click the wireless icon in the lower right corner of the desktop.

From the pop-up menu select "Enable."

This activates the wireless Internet options but it does not turn on the wireless receiver.

Push down on the wireless button or wireless switch on the top of the keyboard.

After a moments time the switch or button lights up, signifying the computer is ready for an Internet connection.

Right-click the wireless icon again.

From the pull-up menu choose to view all available wireless networks in the area.

A window appears with all the networks your computer receives some sort of signal from.

Select the wireless network you want access to, type in the password (if required) and click "Connect." Momentarily the laptop computer connects to the Internet.

you should be able to, it depends on the laptop, the os, the wireless adapter, and the settings .

click start Control Panel - Network Connections - right click on 'Wireless connection'

(or similar) and click 'enable'.

right click on the network in the bottom toolbar select open network sharing center

you should have the options to either connect or disconnect or set up a network connection

this will vary depending on your operating system

hope this helps

Hello - exactly how do I turn on/activate the wireless? have tried F1 with Fn with no success. linksys is totally set up to receive but no wireless shows on laptop. ethernet cable internet is good. Thank...

Can you locate the physical switch for the wireless on the laptop? If so, turn it off for 5 seconds and then turn it back on. If that doesn't work you may need to reinstall the wireless driver.

Not able to connect wifi in my lapopo

In connecting through a wifi, there are two factors to consider. (1) Wireless Router broadcast and (2) Wireless Receiver.

Make sure that your network router is broadcasting wireless internet or wifi. Also, you have to know if you need a pass key or password in order to connect to the wireless network.

Now, given that there is a wifi spot, your laptop should automatically recognize the wifi broadcast and negotiate connection without your intervention. This will only happen IF AND ONLY IF your laptop has a wifi radio receiver and that it is TURNED ON. When it is turned ON, it will connect you immediately if the network has no pass key set. If there is, then you have to enter that key when you try to manually connect it. (Right click on wireless network icon on system tray. Then it should say: Wireless Network Available. Then Click CONNECT)

To turn your wifi radio receiver ON, slide a switch button to ON position depending on your laptop model. If you dont have that kind of switch, look for the wifi icon printed in the keyboard keys. In some laptop, it is in F2. Now Press FN+F2 to turn wifi radio receiever ON and OFF.

Problem with wireless network connection.

Usually, new laptops now have a toggle switch for wifi. It means you have to switch your wifi ON so that it will start receiving signal and transmitting data to your router. Just locate your wifi switch and turn it ON.

Wireless networks not found

Sometimes Satellites get a little flaky when on battery power. If you haven't already, plug in the power cord with the notebook cold - meaning off for about a minute. Boot the notebook and try to do the setup with the power connected. If that solves it, it should work fine when you switch to battery power. If it doesn't, repost with your results.

The wireless network won't connect

Yes, the switch is at the back.

The LifeBook S is equipped with a Wi-Fi (802.11b) receiver; the antennas are inside a long, black plastic panel that runs along the top edge of the lid. The wireless receiver's on/off switch is on the back of the notebook, where the power switch was located in earlier models. Meanwhile, the power switch has moved to a more convenient location on the side of the unit, next to the FireWire port.

Wireless LAN/ Bluetooth ON/OFF Switch
The switch allows you to turn on and off the Wireless LAN/ Bluetooth communications. Slide the switch to the right to turn it on, or slide the switch to the left to turn it off.

Wireless card

Go into the wireless configuration and see if the radio is enabled. The switch is for manually enabling and disabling the radio, if the radio has been disabled in the configuration then the switch will not work. The other thing you can do is, uninstall the wireless drivers from the device manager and reboot. The machine will find the wireless and reinstall the drivers. This should get it back up and running. NOTE- the radio is the terminology used for the wireless receiver, since the wireless card works on frequency it is considered a radio.
