Hi. I Have an Epson printer too and become to send the paper jam error when there not a paper jam on the printer. Check the ink cartrige bay with the printer off. The ink cartrige bay have to stay all the way to the right. If not push carefully to the right. Start again the printer and see what happens. This cause in certain ocassions the paper jam error. If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

Follow the steps for fix HP Printer Carriage Jam

• Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
• Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
• Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
• Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

A paper jam on this machine can be several things. Not seeing the machine, it can be in the fuser area, There is one switch there that can cause a jam. if there is a acornidan jam there the paper has to be removed.
The machine can have a bad cartrige, the pr belt maybe be a cause of the jam espeically if there is a U-7 code. (A false jam) The pr belt timing hole cannot be read by the timing hole sensor. If this is the cause, a broken mount on the copy cartridge unit can cause this problem. The cartridge reciever unit needs to be replaced.
In the registration area there is a jam sensor that can cause this type of jam. If it fell out of place, or the magnet on the back of the acutuator arm has developer beads, can cause the machine to get a jam signal.

BUT can't print documents from my MacBook eventhough the paper feeds and goes out at the other side

Remove all paper...(inspect closely for paper jammed way inside!)

also remove both ink cartriges, reinsert them one at a time carefully and properly....also double check the number code on the ink

the jam error could be either paper or cartriges confusing the printer. let me know if it works....k

It sounds like a bad encoder strip (ribbon cable). Uneconomical to repair.
