By trial and error I guessed the telnet password. I found a not that said it's running a version of Linux. Here ya go! regular telnet (not ssh) root/123456
You will need to contact Zmodo. It is most likely a corrupt password. You maybe able to access your menu, but wont be able to do anything and will get the "no root" error message. They will verify you are the actual owner via either your registration or a number off your orig invoice, for security reasons. (You could be a crook trying to delete the evidence, its good they check) They will then give you a bypass admin code to put in, then direct you to change your password and you should be all set. I just got done doing this after waiting for an hr with their online LIVE chat, and finally just called and waited the 15 mins for someone to answer. Its a small shop, but, they were friendly, knowledgeable and most important, spoke REAL ENGLISH!! =]) I spoke with Tony and after I got it fixed, he gave me a case number which will allow me not to have to go through all the verification next time around if I give it to him.. so, find your invoice and place that case number on it for future reference and put it in a handy location you wont forget. Hope this helps the 20 plus ppl I found also asking pretty much the same question. I looked all over the net and I am an IT Professional and I couldn't find an answer.. even on their website. Samsung told me the newer versions of Windows and Internet Explorer, will not work with this system. Microsoft told Samsung it was their problem. Find a old computer with ME and Explorer 5 and it will work again. I have the ssc17web.
