Can you use a draper submersible pump for a garden irrigation system to use with several sprinklers, does it provide enough water pressure on the outlet?

Too often we let our irrigation systems go on without really making sure that the amount of water, the pressure, the radius and other settings are what our lawn or landscape needs.
This causes not only a great waste of water and money but it may also ruin our flowers and plants.
Therefore here are a few tips to transform a wasteful sprinkler irrigation into the effective system it should be, and to keep a healthy landscape, lawn or garden.

1. When to water.
Watering your lawn and landscape should be differentiated according to seasons.
During warm months (May to October) irrigation should be activated between midnight and sunrise, so to minimize the water that evaporates.
While during winter, plants and lawns should be watered during the warmer part of the day to prevent water from freezing on the landscape.

2. Don't drown your plants.
Keep an eye on your lawn while the sprinklers are on and monitor when the water starts dripping off the sides. This way you will know how long your sprinklers should be left active for, so that the plants may absorb the water without being overwhelmed.

3. Avoid daily, light watering.

4. When watering plants with deep roots, water well and deep, until about half inch deeper than the deepest roots, in order to encourage downward growth.

5. When watering on a slope do it gradually. Run your sprinklers every 3 hours circa and aerate to increase infiltration.

6. Check your sprinkler's efficiency once a month.
Check for damaged, leaking, clogged or stuck sprinkler heads and for constantly soaked patches of grass or soil to detect leakage.
Make sure that the water is sprayed all over the area and that new additions or plants that grew higher and larger don't block the spray pattern.

7. In seasons in which the temperature reaches 30/32 degrees Celsius remember to run your sprinklers 5 to 10 minutes in the afternoon to cool the area. It reduces the symptoms of summer patch disease.

8. Create water zones by putting together the plants that have similar water needs, and water them accordingly

9. Be careful when mowing. If your sprinkle heads don't retract underground after irrigation, apply small flags on them so that while mowing you see them better and avoid damaging them.
