Ipod Touch not charging

I recently bought the Homedics ss-8000, although it does not charge my Ipod touch. It plays the music from the device but does not show evidence of charging the Ipod. Please help!

    Similar problem. Ipod Touch 2nd Gen stated not compatible for charging. Won't play music or charge.

    I am also having this same problem. I got an iPod touch 2nd Gen. for christmas and it will not charge in the docking station like my ipod 5th gen. did.

there is no way to charge it and play it at the same time, unfortunately, iPod touch is not supported for that format, only the latest nano and below.

The new SoundDock II charges your new iPod touch and is fully compatible all iPods and the iPhone 3G. Also the SoundDock Portable will do this. But..
Better news-> Call Bose. They can upgrade the 30-pin connector to charge via USB-only and function with the remote as well. $99. This will make your iPod touch 100% compatible and somewhat future-proof your SoundDock. If the SoundDock was purchased within 90 days (at full retail price), they will do the upgrade for a smaller fee or even free I think.. (new 1 year warranty given with repair/mod) btw- This is an Apple issue, not a Bose issue. All 3rd party iPod connection devices had to make this change at some point.

I bought this Charge Converter from CableJive. It allows me to charge my iPhone 3g on many accessories that would not normally charge the newer models and has successfully fixed the issue with my H+K Dock. I definitely recommend checking them out.

Won't charge on Bose SoundDock
You're not doing anything wrong. Newer iPods and the iPhone require accessories that were specifically designed for them. For example, the iPod interface in my car will not charge my iPhone, however, I can still play music through it.

The only solution is to: 1: Buy a SoundDock II or 2: Charge your ipod seperately.

Itouch charging
Hi there,

Some speaker systems which are only compatible for charging the ipod nanos and classics do not work with the iPod Touch and the iPhone, the internals are slighly different from one another which will not allow that speaker system to charge your iTouch.

To play & Charge your touch, i suggest getting a speaker system that supports the iPod touch platform.
