My scanner no longer scans the local police and sheriff frequencies. It will only scan the next county sheriff frequencies. It was originally programmed to scan Omaha police and Douglas Co. sheriff.

It's possible that your county services have switched to a trunking system, leaving you with nothing but "dead" frequencies. To check the frequencies and systems that are currently in use in your area, visit:

Where can I find the frequencies for BC60XLT for Chippewa county, Wisconsin. Thank you.

I can suggest some resources that you can use to find the frequencies you're looking for.
One option is to check the website of the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office or the local government website for information on radio frequencies used by their departments. Another option is to visit the website of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and use their online database to search for radio frequencies assigned to Chippewa County.
You can also try searching for online forums or groups of radio enthusiasts or scanner hobbyists that may have information on frequencies used in the Chippewa County area.
It's important to note that you may need a license or permission to use certain frequencies, and it's always a good idea to check local regulations and guidelines before using any radio equipment.

I need local police and fire frequncies how do i get them free

Try contacting your local law enforcement agency, they will usually be happy enough to send you a list for your county - however there are frequency numbers that are private and not ment to be 'scanned' by us regular folks. Your local newpaper or TV station may have the list on the website. All the other frequency numbers i know of i got out of my book - which btw was well worth the $10 becausee it gave me EVERY agency broadcasting : fire, sheriff, state police troops A-F, courthouse, etc. You can try letting your scanner do the work and have it scan for frequencies and store those that you find and dump the ones you dont like later, but if your going to do it that way let your scanner scan for a week or so - some frequencies dont get used very much. If your town/city has a website the local frequencies should also be listed there. Good Luck
