Fitting a Zanussi fridge thermostat

Hi all,
I have purchased a new thermostat for the fridge on a Zanussi ZFK-67/43 RF. I have traced the old tube/wire around the back of the fridge and then it goes through a hole into the back of the fridge. I have tried to pull the tube/ wire out but I presume it must be fixed inside? Looking inside the fridge there is a back panel and I assume the thermostat wire connects to the back of that. Can anybody please advise how to get the old wire out and the new wire in.

Many thanks
iwish

The stat is clamped to the backplate of the frodge with a simple clamp held just by two screws. undo the clamp. the stat capiliary may be bent back on itself, if so straighten it and it will pull out

Zanussi fridge freezer wont stop making a whirring noise

Sounds like the unit is goosed and is trying none stop to get the temperature down in the fridge.

That is of course unless the ice is building up like an iceberg inside the cabinet in which case the thermostat has gone

Freezer seems to be working fine but fridge is not cold... fridge is on top of freezer, it is a frost free zanussi, not sure which model thou, just coming up to 5 yrs old ? any help would be great thanks

A fan controlled by a thermostat is required to move the cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator for cooling. Use a volt meter testing the voltage on the fan. If you have voltage it is a bad fan. If you do not get a voltage test the thermostat. If it measures zero ohms short the thermal switch or if it is a short open one lead. If the fan works replace the thermal switch.

Zanussi fridge freezer not cooling

no, its probably weak capacitors which provide power to switch the relay. Take the control board out and ask a friendly TV repair tech to change the capacitors

Zanussi ZX 57/3 fridge and freezer not working

Hi . Most freezers with the condenser coils at the back do not work when the temperature where it is placed gets below (( 5 degree c ))?? IE in a garage if it is freezing weather outside. One solution is somehow to keep the condenser compartment warm. Check the makers website. for what they say about it

Freezer very hot at the back

It is usual for the back of a fridge or freezer unit to get hot at the back as it uses a thermal transfer or heat pump process. As a freezer tends to cool the inside much more than a fridge it will obviously get hotter.
Make sure there is sufficient air flow around the rear of the unit and that no one can touch the rear radiator element, (to prevent burns.)
More expensive freezers actually use a fan to help circulate air around this rear element.

See http://uk.danfossuniverse.com/page2072.aspx for a more graphical demonstration of the workings.

Auto defrost is not working on my zanussi ice free fridge /freezer

You have a defrost problem. It means you have 3 parts that can be involve ( timer, defrost thermostat, element) most of the time it's the timer. Hope it was helpful. :)

I have an unexplained smelly zanussi fridge/freezer model Model zx99/5si? I have a zanussi frost free fridge/freezer model Model zx99/5si which is just 4 years old and it is now giving off a revolting...

Hi - we had this problem, and it was in fact where some blood from a defrosting pice of meat drained into the compressor condensation tank and began to decay!

I agree the smell is terrible, so a good clean up is needed but this solves the problem immediately!

Kind regards,

Mike

Fridge not cooling

Three most common problems are bad evaporator fan motor, defrost problem, or damper motor.
