Cant figure out how to get back to farenheit temp..

I had a power surge several times a couple of nights ago and when my oven came back on the temp had changed from f to c degrees. I cant figure out how to get it back to farenheit. Also, my clock will not stay on now. Any suggestions? The timer does work but the clock wont stay on. After a power outage the temperature has changed from F to C and we cant seem to find a control that changes it. The clock also will not stay lit as it previouly has.

After a power surge last week, our oven only displays temps in celcius and I am at a loss as to how to get it back to farenheit. Our clock does not display the time now either.

We were without electricity for 2 daya following hurricane Irene. When power was restored, the oven display (time, temp, etc) did not come back on. The oven lights come on when the button is depressed. and...

Try turning off the circuit breaker to the oven for 30 min or so and then turn it back on. If it does not come back on the oven probably got a power surge and the control has been damaged. Hope that helps

A few days ago, there was a power outage at my home/neighborhood. After the electricity came back ( after 30 minutes ) ...the digital clock ( control panel) on my oven set at LOCK and I cant open my oven...

Sounds like when the power came back on the surge burned out some electrical coponents in the control board. I would suggest taking it to the repair shop.

Power cut and now cant reset the clock

We flipped off the designated breaker to the oven and turned it on again. We were then able to reset the clock. This has happened to us several times.

Kenmore Gas oven is giving F8 error code

Unfortunately the F8 usually means an EEPROM data shift error. Try turning the power on and off several times. If error continues, you have no choice but to replace the ERC. Check on line for the best price. There is a group in the Chicago area that repairs ERCs. Check them out at www.cgiltd.com The failure of the your power system may have been associated with a surge either as the power went off or when it came back on. It may have been the surge that did the damage.
