If you are on a satellite system, well they have a recurring problem that cuts the sound off. You may only need to unplug the satellite receiver for 30 seconds. I have seen this happen so many times. Also be sure you have not inadvertly pressed the mute button. And be sure the speakers are on in the sound menu. The worst and last problem is a bad audio circuit failure in the TV.

My problem at my z5500 is that the light from the display is not working and also one channel is not working at all is the front left side channel.

im not sure i understand your problem??? however if you are having sound problems
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question exclamation mark? ! or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it
if his does not fix the problem
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar for any further volume control settings you will need to right click on the volume icon system select adjust volume

click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good

try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
hope this helps you

Can't change from MONO to AUTO mode

Hello
Can't make sound from mono to auto is your problem I thinks and posts this solution.
Hit the "Menu" button and surf through, come to "Sound Adjust" window.
The settings allow you to change and adjust sound in your TV. There are Bass, Treble and Balance control to adjust to your individual taste.
To adjust them
1. Press Menu button.
2. Press UP or DOWN button to select the desired item.
3. Press => or 4. Press EXIT button when finished.
When adjusting the parameter of "Balance" control, always set it to mid position to get stereo sound from both speakers. If it is set to any extreme end, there will be no output from the speaker of that side, and will hear as mono.
If you press "0" [Zero] button, you can reset the sound settings to it Factory settings.
To select 'Streo mode;
1. Press "Menu" button.
2. Press UP or DOWN button to select MTS [Multi-channel Telivision Sound].
3. Press => or [The ON AIR arrowtells you if a broadcast is in stereo AND/OR contains the SAP.
Press "Exit" button when finished.

Keep the TV in stereo mode to get the best sound quality. The sound will work in stereo

mode even if a certain broadcast is in mono sound only.

Choose the mono setting to reduce excessive noise on a certain channel or broadcast.
Selecting SAP will allow you to hear an alternative soundtrack, if one is available.

The receiver automatically pick the best configuration for the source audio. Most music is 2 channels being up-sampled to 4 channels. (Sub-out is separate.)

I have a Denon AVR587 running in 7.1. I have an unusual problem as the rear channels seem to play all sounds at a higher pitch and lower volume than all the other speakers on the system. I am using a voice...

Hey ajn1n1 we need to fine where the tinnyness is coming from Lets do a test shall we,

hook up your voice matched polks to your front left and right speaker outputs on your amp to see how they sound as mains. if you hear tinny then its the speakers. sometimes speaker need to be broken in a bit.

hook up your main front left and right speakers to your rear outputs. if you hear the tinnyness then its the output of that channel on the amp or a setting. Newer amps let you change speaker sizes in the menu so that it can change over the crossover for that channel.
