Once you have reset the router back to factory settings(using the pinhole at the back of the router and not just restart), you have to re-enter or re-configure your router for the internet connection depending upon your Internet Service Provider. Please contact your Internet Service Provider for the settings, use the CD that came with the router and re-enter the settings, once done, just turn off the router and turn it again. The internet will work.
The settings should be

  1. The connection type - PPPoe or PPPoA (ATM)
  2. Log in details for your ISP (username and password)
These are the two main settings, apart from these, some more settings could be provided by your internet service provider. if they do not provide it, reply with your country, the name of your Internet Service Provider(like AT&T or Verizon etc)

Can't get Trendnet TEW-432 router to connect to internet with motorola modem

I had this same problem. I was going to go ahead and call ATT and ask them to put my modem into bridge mode, but I messed around a bit more....

I went ahead and turn on PPPoE...tried to run the set up again. Well it worked. Not the internet connection is working through the modem. For some reason, the setup changed PPPoE back to DHCP Client, but it's working now. Give this a shot before calling ATT if you like. Good luck.
