it\'s a mad katz controller i had about 15 of these growing up for my game systems; not only did they break easy but 2 of them came non working themself. buy a cheap 360 controller online and scrap mad katz :)
My 1999 Beetle did the same thing. I didn't have any luck repairing it, even tried a different magazine but nothing helped. Fortunately I found someone local selling a used trunk-mounted CD changer for $10, so I bought that and it worked like a champ.
So for me, I ended up having to replace the CD changer to fix this problem. Hope you have better luck.
I would contact MB 1-800 number on the box of the game and ask them to please send a copy of an instruction booklet. Most companies are fine doing that. Let them know the situation, and if that fails try going to the website and looking for directions.
you just have to play it and see how it is. It's the same way with cell phones, other video games, etc.
You know that younger people learn faster, and i think your son/daughter will figure it out soon.
The easiest way to do this is to go online and order a PS2 controller to PC adapter on amazon.com or some other site. I have a Madcatz MC2 and a Ps2 controller to PC adapter (a cheap one -_-") and it works okay (I'm having a lot of trouble with the pedals though).
