I been riding for quite awhile and when in a good rainstorm my 2000 Royal Star venture quits running. If I let it sit for awhile it will start back up and continue to run. Never happens when it isn't raining.

Fuel starvation? Try a ride with the fuel filler cap open (be careful though). If still the same then at least you know the cap vent is working. Fuel filter blocked. Fuel line kinked (usually after a tank removal and re-fit). Fuel tap problem. Remember that some fuel may be getting through, enough to start and idle but maybe not enough for the demands of riding.
