Hi there

have you checked and removed any built up grass/ mudd from the blade/ bell housing ?
does the blade turn freely after this ?

remove the pull start cover assy does the engine rotate freely ?

make sure the blade brake is not stuck on ( if these units use them )

if no check your oil level ?

if you have no oil reading on the dip stick you could quite possibly have siezed or partially siezed your engine

make sure you have not hydraulicd oil into the combustion chamber ( this raises compression )
to the point where it has too much compression and oil will not compress and causes a loc near tdc

take look and let me know

Self propelled I have a toro super recycler model 20092 when I cut the grass it seems like the mower wants to pull to one side all the time. The right side. thoughts? year 2009

I assume this is a powered mower, that is to say it turns the wheels to assist in mowing. Only one wheel is powered, so it can pull to the side.

How to fix stuck pull cord of a 22 inch Toro Recycler lawn mower

Is the engine seized?. Try turning the blade and if it won't turn then you have a seized engine. If that is ok your recoil has a stuck part possibly something has broken off inside. If it's an older model try shooting WD40 inside the recoil as it could be rusty.

Toro 24038 blade speed governor not working

Not enough torque. Only use 1/2 width of deck on tall grass, go real slow, Ensure side discharge is open! Ensure blade is sharp. Replace spark plug once a year and clean replace air filter. check oil level 30woil.

I have a Toro 22 in Recycler Lawn Mower Model No. 20331 I can't pull the starter cable, it seems locked. My boys were mowing the lawn earlier, some very high grass, and the mower stopped

Hi. It's not locked. The piston has siezed up maybe for lack of oil or sitting too long. It is time to retire it. If your son or daughter or grand kids has some mechanical in them. They can tare it apart and fix it. Good luck.

My toro sel propelled lawn mover is not starting the cord is hard to pull

You probably have grass or other debris caught up on the drive shaft. Turn the mower over, and where the drive shaft (that the blade rides on) disappears into the mower, squirt some WD-40. Make sure to go around the circumference of the shaft.

Then turn the blade by hand (carefully -- you might want to wear thick gloves) and apply some more WD-40. The blade should become easier to turn, which will allow your pull cord to be pulled all the way out.

If the cord pulls farther than it did before but still not far enough, repeat the procedure and apply more WD-40 or oil.

To mulch my grass clippings, do I have to use the side discharge or can I simply remove the bag and insert the rear plug?

Insert the rear plug if mulching is desired. The key to mulching is to mow the lawn frequently. You want to keep the mower deck height high enough to cut the grass and allow the mulching blades to work, but just low enough to actually cut the grass in a smooth uniform height. To low of a cut setting will clog the mower and create a mess. 2 times a week is a good frequency to start with.
