Replacement of engine twice in 30 days

Purchased a used 1998 beetle. Engine replaced due to engine light being on and burning up the engine. Recent engine replaced and drove car for about 2 hours 80 miles and check engine light came on. Didn't you get warranty on the previous engine? Even used engines these days get a warranty from their respective agencies. Also like Lee has quoted in his answer about error codes, you could brief us up on what all the areas of problem were in the first place. Next time ensure you avail warranty while buying parts, whether new or used.

What code is it?? If your replacement engine is doing the very same thing the old one did...overheating, The problem is most likely the radiator or something besides the engine. When you replaced the engine, did you do it or did a shop take care of it? If a shop did it, they should have checked the condition of the radiator. 50% of the engine replacements that I do, I end up replacing the radiator because that was where the problem initially started.

1999 vw Beetle goes dead while driving replace battery and alternator still doing it no battery light comes on

Is The battery charging when the engine is running? The voltage at the battery should be close to 14 volts DC when the engine is running at about twice the idle speed. If it is then it may be worth checking that your regulator/Rectifier has failed.

Catalytic converter has plugged up twice in 3000 miles

Catalytic convertor fails due to oil burning, recent head gasket, improper fuel control, but plugging up at 3000 mile misfire surely plug it up when the vehicle is dumping gas in the catalytic, lean misfire ,running very rich due to a coolant temperature.Who is putting this on?I dont know what state you are from,a catalytic should not be installed unless the vehicle is in proper fuel control.and whoever installed this should foot the bill. You need to claim warranty regardless and plus there is a EO# that must match the vehicle.

I have a 1998 vw new beetle. The check engine light came on and not sure why. The car seems to be running fine. Last week we replaced the tensioner pulley and a new belt. Now I have the engine light on....

Some auto parts stores scan check engine lights for free. If you can get the code, and tell me what your engine/trans is in the Beetle, I can help narrow down the cause of the check engine light.

I have replaced my rhs indicator (front)twice now and it has blown at the front again! What could this be? The engine light is constantly on but garage cannot find a fault. Possibly a fuse?

Poor quality bulb or bad connection in housing.

Check Engine lamp is due to either oil service due or engine fault code set. ...depending on model...... also possible fuel filler cap loose or has been loose. Fuse will not set Check Engine lamp.

Get a shop to run a scan on the car and note the codes . Search those codes on Google .

Search for a shop near you at http://www.iatn.net/shopfinder/
