I have just installed the yahoo messenger, downloaded from yahoo website. Its YM 9. After installation as i'm clicking on shortcut to start messenger, each time following error comes. --------------------------- Error --------------------------- Cannot load resource DLL. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- Any ideas? what can be done here? I'm using windows xp sp3.

If YM (Yahoo Messenger) is not opening or not working properly, I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall it to your computer. Pls follow the steps below.
Uninstalling/removing YM:
Click Start> Control Panel>> Add and remove Programs, click.

On this page, look for Yahoo Messenger and click Remove, stay there until the page reopens with no Yahoo Messenger there. ReStart your computer, do not miss this step!
To reinstall YM to your computer, Visit this website http://messenger.yahoo.com/download/ and click download now.

Few sugesstions :

1) Check whether if your windows is installing new updates, sometimes YM does crash when window is updating. If you are using Win7, then just go to: --> Control panel/ System & security/ Windows Update/ Change setting. In the setting panel, you will see " Important Updates " box selection. Change it to "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download & install them". Restart your pc/laptop, then try log in to your YM.

2) *This step won't be necessary but won't do any harm too, go to: Control Panel --> System & Security --> System --> Advance System Settings. In the " Advance " tab, click "setting" at the " performance " column. Select " Data Execution Prevention ", select " Turn on DEP for all programs & services except those i select", Insert your YahooMessenger.exe (C:/Program Files/Yahoo!/Messenger/YahooMessenger) into the add list. Restart PC/laptop & try to log in to YM.
3) If those won't work, uninstall your current YM, restart your pc/laptop, then try installing a new one. ** If it still crash, then your internet connection might be the problem, & also, Yahoo! can be down sometimes too.

if you can browse the internet but YM program doesn't launch at all it could be the program has problem of its own, you can try uninstalling your current YM program by going to control panel then add/remove programs then choose your yahoo messenger and click remove, then install a new one from the internet:

You should notexperience the same issue that you had before. 8. After Yahoo! Messenger is installed,runregistry cleaner reginout also rebootyour system. All other background applications will return to their originalconfigurations.

You can download the Yahoo Messenger application directly from their website:

1. Visit http://messenger.yahoo.com/
2. Click the yellow "Download Now" button.
3. Click the yellow "Download Now" button in the page that has just opened up.
4. A new popup will apear. Click Run.
5. After the download has finished, the Yahoo Messenger installer will run.
6. Keep clicking "Next", and in the final stage click Install.
7. After installation is complete, click Finish.
8. Now you will find a shortcut on the desktop of Yahoo Messenger, double click it.
9. Now you have Yahoo Messenger fully functional and running.
   

I think there is any issue in your network connection.

Please download the offline installer and install it.

Try deleting all your temporary files.

1. Click Local Disk(C:)
2. Click Documents and Settings, Your Document Name
3. Local Settings
4. Temp Folder
5. Delete all the files inside the Temp Folder

Delete all your cache, internet temporary files,and cookies

• Open your web browser
• On the toolbar menu, Click Tools
• Delete all files (History,cache,temp files,cookies).

Uninstall your previous YM installation. Reboot your computer. Download and reinstall your Yahoo Messenger.

did you uninstall the previous ym first before installing beta 9 of ym?
uninstall the old ym first then.

see if there are many memory resident in your computer that's consuming the resources of your computer. tune up utilities 2007 should do the trick

I have a desktop computer and downloaded ym 9.0 for vista it loaded but will not pull up when i click on it it freezes.
