8gb micro SD card cant be formatted - SanDisk 2GB microSD Memory Card

These cards have a switch on them to protect them just change the position and you should be able to format it.

Depending on your laptop, 8 GB SD cards may not work. That said, insert the SD card, open Computer, right click on the SD Card icon, format.

If the phone failed to format the SD card, try to format it through your computer. Connect the phone through the USB port located at the back of the tower. You'll be prompted that the PC detected 2 USB drives, the phone and the SD card. You will see it by going to My Computer folder. From there, right click the Letter drive represents the SD drive then select Format. I hope this helps.

Often times, these jump drives have a tiny, nearly invisible read-only switch on them. Check to see that it isn't set to read only, which will inhibit formatting, among other things.

The memory might be able to be saved. but if you have attempted to format it most likely the data is gone because that is what formating does. Now you can get an 8GB Micro SD for about 15$ so I would buy a couple and always back up important data daily. Thanks,

Hello kenac, this may seem like a simple thing, but sometimes the simple things are the last ones we think of. Do you have any data on the 8GB card, if not, you can reformat it in the device and it should be happy. If the device does not have an option to format the card, you can format it in any computer that has a slot for it.

i have come to the conclusion the mgb card itself is corrupted
i put in my nokia 5800 and it says card corrupted
i format card all looks ok
remove from nokia
and put back in again
and card corrupted again,
also 8gb card from my nokia (not the same one)
works in the pixion ok
so im sending back the card

the max it can go upto ia 2GB only

max memory card the KU990 can handle upto 2Gb
