Hello, you can add freon by installing a piercing valve on the low side of the system. Before adding freon I would check and make sure the air filter and both coils are clean. If everything is clean then most likey the unit has a leak and is low on freon.

Not staying cool

sounds like it is either low on Freon or the compressor is going out. The blowing ice cold is an indicator that it may be freezing up because the low Freon. when it stops blowing cold, turn it to fan only mode and see if it gets colder again. If that is the case then the unit is low on freon and freezing up. I know that sounds confusing but that is how AC works. The low freon pressure means the gas is expanding too fast and the air flow cannot take up the cold from the evaporator fast enough. Turning the compressor off and keeping the fan on will alow the room air to take up the cold.

How can I add freon to a crosley ac unit, it's

Unplug the ac unit and let sit for 30 minutes to a hour..... Wear safety goggles and gloves... BE CAREFUL IF YOU ARE NOT LICENSED TO DO A/C SERVICING!
Buy a saddle valve and attatch it to the low line, suction line which should be connected to the compressor....
Buy a set of guages and attach the guage hose to the saddle valve and see if the pressure reads out correctly (the psi pressure level should be written on the side where the model number is and if it's low or empty, then continue with the refilling process...
Buy a jug of R22 ac freon and fill it to the correct low psi...
I recommend that you change the thermistor first to see if it's bad and causing the problem...
Be careful...

Add coolant to a fedders a3t12f2al 12000 window ac

You can recharge the compressor with R134a refrigerant gas, but not with coolant. But, the compressor will have to be purged of any existing refrigerant gas, before recharging with new gas.You shouldn't mix old with new, because depending on the age of the unit, it may still have Freon in it. Freon has been banded by the EPAand doesn't mix with the new gas.

Hope this helped answer your question. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

AC ran for a couple of hours and started blowing

If it is icing over, it is low on freon. You might have a freon leak if the system is relatively new. It will take a licensed tech to check, fix leak and recharge.

My ac does not work properly when I add freon the ac will work well for about 5 minuted then will blow warm air hoping some one could give me an idea what might be wrong, ie what to replace to fix it.

does the compressor keep cycling on and off ? if so then it is low on refrigerant causing the cycling, sometimes you have to bypass the compressor pressure switch to stop it from cycling long enough to get enough refrigerant in the system, but of course you need to check for a leak if you are trying to recharge the unit then add a refrigerant with dye solution in it to locate any leaks, note leaks and then evacuate system amd rapair the leak source and then draw the system down add the proper compressor oil or refreigerant with oil in it. you may want to have a qualified AC repair facility do this , so they can properly evacuate and recover the refrigerant material... thanks , please rate my help...

How do i add freon to fedders model # A6X05F2B

you dont!!! Only an EPA certified technician can do this. Besides that this is window unit and therefore it is a sealed unit not meant to be recharged. Some newer models allow for this but not this Federers. It probably just needs a good coil cleaning is all, if its losing refrigerant than it has major problems not worth fixing---buy a new one thats more efficient---the energy savings will pay for the unit.

Heat doesn't work on ac

You need to check if the heat strip is still good on it or that it is receiving power. If its getting power, then the strip is bad.
