I have an NEC DT300 deskphone and need to reprogramme a One touch speed dial button to change the telephone number , I can do it using Feature button, any idea how I do this ?

Wanting to extend ring time - changed by itself - only ringing 5-6 times before going to message bank.

5-6 rings I think that is the best you can get

Hi I have a Nec DT300 at work. I am on a new desk. Do you know how I can change the name which is on the display.

If you have the Admin password then follow this procedure:
For a DT330 (24-Button with 4 line LCD)
Do not lift the handset and press the Speaker button
Enter #*#*
Enter the 4 digit admin password and press the Transfer button
The phone will now display 'Program Mode'
Select Base from the four options using the associated softkey
Enter 15 and press the select softkey 2 times
The Extension Number and Ext Name will be displayed
Find the Extension Number you want to change the Extension Name for using the + and - softkeys
Press the Mic button to go to the Ext Name line
Enter the New Name using the number dial keypad.
If you make an error the Recall button will delete a character to the left and the Hold button will delete all characters to the right of the cursor.
Press the Transfer button to accept the new name.
Press the Answer button 4 times or until 'Program Mode' is displayed.
Press the Speaker button.
The system will save the changes and return the display to normal.

My NEC DVL(XD)Z-Y (BK)phone has a red blinking light for reception button. No one knows the mailbox code since the receptionist was replaced. How do I reset code or stop light from fast flashing red?

These instruction are for a Univerge-SV8100
To Delete a Security code, the greeting, messages or recorded name in a personal voicemail box:
1. From any phone with Admin rights (Usually ext 101)
2. Press the message button
3. Enter security code if there is one
4. Dial 72 to access System Admin
5. Press SUBS soft-key (in display)
6. Dial the extension number you want to change
7. Press the available softkey in the display or 7 to delete the security code.
Be careful when you are in the admin part of the programming because you can really mess up the voice mail if you do something wrong. To check what type of phone system you have look for a NEC box in your phone room or server room. The complete PDF is here

PUSH JUST THE BUTTON SPEAKER TWICE
IT MAKES THE HAND FREE CALL YOUR PHONE WAS FORGOTTEN ON FREE HANDS CALL

MSG on Display

Once the messeges are cleared, the light will stop blinking.
There should be a button to push, which will allow you to access the messeges options.

How so i change the employee name on phone?

Press speaker key dial 700 Enter extension number (which will be 3 numbers like 101). Use the keypad to enter name (up to 12 characters) use # in between if there is a letter on the same button your just pressed. Press speaker once you've finished typing the name.

THANK YOU, worked perfectly. I just canceled a $200 service order from our shady PBX provider (Pacific Northwest Telco) to come onsite and 'train me' how to do this because of your solution
