Remove lamp and inspect the color wheel to see if missing pieces or shattered---it will also just before failing give a high pitched or fan like sound and if running too slow or not at all instant shutdown happens.
Its also possible if you bought a GENERIC bulb--and used original cartridge the new lamp is bad.
If the hum came in front of the lamp housing, the fault came from the faulty color wheel. Replace this part and your unit will back to normal operation again.
Check your color wheel. There is a DIY guide for replacing the color wheel. Mine did the same thing yours is and my color wheel was all busted up. Unfortunately after replacing the color wheel my set continues to do the same thing, but this could mean I need to replace the ballast as well.
when turning on the set will go three startup cycles about 2-3 min. then all three leds will blink/ possible causes /lamp/ballast/dmd board check or purchase the dmd board last (costs) also listen for arcing from the ballest at startup and fan noise if you can and color wheel noise also.if you hear the ballast arcing and trying to fire the lamp look at the lamp.
