Crackly Headset

My headphones are putting out a crackly noise, and a soft static is produced when I attempt to speak through the microphone. I believe it may be a disconnected wire. If so, how would I open up the headset to check? And if not, what could be wrong?

Mate, im having the same Problem i have no idea what to do!
When the Red light is on, it doesnt crackle, but when the Red light is on.. i cant use it as a Microphone.
But when i turn the red Light off.. there seems to be a crackly noise everytime i speak!!
I did manage to fix it for like a day.. i just pushed all the wires and it seemed to work. but hasnt for over a month now..
