SOURCE: memory
It sounds like the "memory" power wire is not connected. This is a separate wire coming into the stereo that is always connected to the car's battery. It is not affected by whether the keys are in the car or not. You will need to locate this wire, and ensure it is connected to an "always on" circuit in the car.
Nokia 6230 GPRS and WAP Internet Settings
You'll need to complete all steps for this to work.
The phone has a 4 way directional 'Navi' key and 2 soft keys either side of this.
To insert the required symbol (e.g. : / . @) into your settings, simply
press the * key, highlight the appropriate symbol and press the Use key
to select.
1. Press Menu button (Navi key).
2. Scroll to 'Settings' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
3. Highlight 'Configuration' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
4. Highlight 'Personal Configuration Settings' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
5. Press 'Add' [If there are profiles in the hand set already Press 'Options' then select 'Add new']
6. Highlight 'Web' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
7. Highlight 'Account name' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
8. Enter 'giffgaff GPRS WAP' and then press 'OK' (Navi key).
9. Highlight 'Homepage' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
10. Enter 'http://giffgaff.com/mobile' then press 'OK' (Navi key).
11. Ignore 'User name': Leave blank.
12. Ignore 'Password': Leave blank.
13. Highlight 'Use preferred access point' press 'Select' (Navi key).
14. Highlight 'No' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
15. If asked to 'Define access point settings' then press 'OK' (Navi key).
16. Highlight 'Access point settings' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
17. Highlight 'Proxy' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
18. Highlight 'Enable' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
19. Highlight 'Proxy address' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
20. Enter '193.113.200.195' and press OK' (Navi key).
21. Highlight 'Proxy port' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
22. Enter '8080' and press 'OK' (Navi key).
23. Highlight 'Data bearer' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
24. Highlight 'GPRS' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
25. Highlight 'Bearer settings' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
26. Highlight 'GPRS access point' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
27. Enter 'giffgaff.com' and press 'OK' (Navi key).
28. Highlight 'Authentication type' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
29. Highlight 'Normal' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
30. Highlight 'User name' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
31. Enter 'giffgaff' and press 'OK' (Navi key).
32. Highlight 'Password' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
33. Enter 'password' and press 'OK' (Navi key)
34. When asked to 'Verify new password' enter 'password' and press 'OK' (Navi key).
35. Press 'Back' (right soft key) 3 times.
36. Highlight 'giffgaff GPRS WAP' and press 'Options' (left soft key).
37. Highlight 'Activate' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
38. Press 'Back' (right soft key) 4 times to return back to the standby screen.
Switch your handset off and then back on to complete your settings.
The GPRS WAP settings are now complete.
Nokia 6230 MMS Settings
You'll need to complete all steps for this to work.

35. Press Menu button (Navi key).
36. Scroll to 'Messages' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
37. Highlight 'Message Settings' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
38. Highlight 'Multimedia Msgs.' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
39. Highlight 'Configuration Settings' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
40. Highlight 'Configuration' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
41. Highlight 'Personal Config' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
42. Highlight 'Account' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
43. Highlight 'giffgaff MMS' and press 'Select' (Navi key).
44. Press 'Back' (right soft key) 5 times to return to the standby screen.
Switch your handset off and then back on to complete your settings.
The MMS settings are now complete.

Press T/F (7) momentarily to change the information displayed by the unit from mode-specific
information (radio frequency, CD track number, etc.) to the clock display. Press T/F again to
return to the default display.
The T/F button is also used to set the clock to the correct time. Press and hold T/F to enter into
clock set mode. When the time flashes on the display, rotate the volume control to adjust the
hours. When finished, press T/F again and rotate the volume control to adjust the minutes.
When no adjustments have been made for five seconds, the unit will resume normal operation.
