My HP P2035N LaserJet is saying it's "offline" and will not print at all. I've tried changing cables and that's not working. It powers on, but that's about it!
Offline means that the computer thinks the printer is not available. The problem is that some how, that option in the printer menu has been checked. "use printer offline" is the choice that has probably been checked. Some times this will happen after a communication or paper problem has occcured.
To get to this menu, go to printers and faxes on the control panel. Find your printer icon and click on it.
A window wil appear and you will see file in the upper left corner. Click on this and a drop down menu will appear. You should see the offline option here, and if there is a check mark in front of it, click on the check mark to remove it.
This should clear the problem.
Thanks...When I clicked on my printer icon, it came up to an HP page with my printer that said offline, but I didn't see any "file" in the upper left corner. I just happened to click on something else that said to check "light conditions." None of the lights on my printer are on besides the power button. It said "There are no lights so the printer will not print." Not sure if that's just due to it being offline, but...thanks for your help. I think I'm close.
The solution did not solve my problem. I think this is a firmware isue. I can ping the printerIP. I can go to the printers HTML page settings. But the printer status shows "Offline". How is that even posible?
