On the back of a CD-writer or a DVD-writer is a small grid (2 rows) of gold pins.
Each vertical set of pins is labelled: MA(ster), SL(ave), and C(able)S(elect).
Be sure that one drive has a small jumper between the MA pins,
and the other drive has a small jumper between the SL pins.
Was there any software on CD-ROM that came with the DVD-writer,
e.g., software to play DVDs, and software to write CDs and DVDs?
To "play" a DVD, you'll need that software.
To "play" a music CD, Windows Media Player will suffice.
first, try to replace keyboard. if not work try reformat the system and if still not work, there is a problem in mainboard maybe short circuit then replace mainboard.
Ok ..u can see a small hole on the cd drive front panel. Just put a small pin having 2-3 inch length inside and push ..cd drive will open. ( a straigtened paper clip pin will work)
The small hole allows you to mechanically release the tray. Unfortunately, with the system still running, the drive will fight you. Shutdown the system and then try using the pin in the hole to release the CD. That should resolve the removal problem. As far as the CD drive goes, it may be attempting to read the disc and failing. Sometimes it just does not give up. You may need to have the disc lens cleaned or just replace the drive.
Hope this helps.
Dan
You can get the DVD out by putting a pin into the little hold on the other side of the eject button. Try putting an audio CD into the drive and see if it recognizes it. If it won't see anything and there's no light, it's probably broken and time for a trip to the computer repair shop of your choice.
