No signal from computer to monitor 8/13/08!

This monitor has been flawless, thank God, since I first got it from Gateway back in August, 2006. I have not had the problems others have had until now. The monitor was working fine up to Tuesday evening. Early Wed. morning I turn on my system as usual and the monitor says "NO SIGNAL" and the power button goes from blue to yellow. I made no changes -- did nothing from Tuesday evening to Wed morning -- and this happened. I thought it was my computer but I heard windows XP and my desktop was "there" but I couldn't see it!! So I turned everything off and I got out my old Gateway FPD1810 monitor, hooked it up to dvi port from computer and all was fine!!! So I know it is NOT my computer or graphic card. Remember I made no changes to anything and this happened all of a sudden. I know that people have spoken about the dvi port on this monitor as failing all of a sudden, but on my monitor the dvi port still works with my Cablevision HD box and my Toshiba DVD recorder. I watch high definition television and watch dvd recordings still on this monitor!!

My issue is that my computer and the monitor are not syncing and I get no signal, no computer display! I still do get my cable box and dvd recorder! So my monitor is NOT dead -- it still functions beautifully with its menus and I can still watch HDTV, etc.

What is happening here? This problem just came out of the blue, with no provocation from me -- I did not download anything, make any changes to anything, period!

Exact same problem (though I don't have another monitor nor the other services you have to confirm the monitor is still working). I can hear my computer boot up; I know the computer is working fine. But all of the sudden it will NOT send signals to my monitor. Happened overnight. Maybe a Windows Upgrade that happened on my last Power Down? Or maybe the hardware? I, too, bought this monitor in 2006 (April), and it's worked fine until today. The monitor is a FPD1750 GATEWAY.

I had the exact same problem!! Drove me crazy for days. Couldn't find any answers online, contacted Gateway tech support and they told me my warranty was expired but they'd be happy to discuss my issue for $2 per minute. Gateway can **** it!!

At first I thought the problem might be a malfunctioning NVIDIA card, a problem with my DVI cable, or the monitor itself. But, after turning off the computer, unplugging the DVI cable, replugging the DVI cable and restarting the computer, I noticed I could get the firmware flash screen to show, including the BIOS menu boot and the Gateway system reinstall screen to show. As soon as the Windows flash logo would display, however, the monitor would drop out and display the dreaded "No Signal" error.
This indicated the problem was a software one and not hardware! The cable, monitor and video card were all working fine. Then I remembered that Windows installed its automatic update a few days prior. In fact...

THE PROBLEM TURNED OUT TO BE A WINDOWS UPDATE INSTALLED A FEW DAYS PRIOR.

After succesfully booting into safe mode (F8 during the flash/bootup screens), I went to Add or Remove programs in the control panel, clicked on the "Show Updates" box on the top, and uninstalled the Windows update from a few days prior to the occurance of the error. After a reboot the problem was solved.

I hope this will help anybody else struggling with this error!

Have you tried using the monitor with another PC? It is most likely the drivers on your PC went corrupt somehow. Since you have another monitor, go into control panel and adjust the monitor resolution to 800x600 and try your gateway again. If neither of those suggestions help then call Gateway tech support.

This is a common problem with many LCD monitors. The
printed circuit board that provides a stable voltage for the monitor to operate
from starts to fail. The PCB can be replaced, when/if they are available, or repaired

I tore down and reset my computer in a new location. After reconnecting everything my gateway 900g monitor is not receiving a signal from the cpu. There is a signal coming from the computer, I don't know...

Check the cable connections, and make sure you did 't accidentally bend a pin when reconnecting things.
Also you may wish to contact gateway online to see the troubleshooting solutions for your particular monitor. There may be a reset you can do.
Also troubleshooting is available from Help & support in your start menu...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

No signal from computer to monitor 8/13/08!

maybe your monitor is too old to your pc.. because it can't catch up the HI frequency of Graphics that you set up in your system.. but lets check first your system.. you need to get a new monitor or an extra one taht can capture the frequency of your system.. then ill give you the step.. here it is.. in windows XP,, right click on desktop then properties.. after you click the properties a windows will appear.. display properties..go to setting, below click advance., then find monitor in general tab. then you see there the monitor setting... try to change it to 60 hertz... then restart your pc then try to use your old monitor.. ^^
