Re: I dropped it and then it would not turn on or charge
Chances are you have damaged some internal components. Best thing you can do is if you feel comfortable doing such a thing is to open it, and see if any parts are cracked or worse. Best of luck to you.

Does the battery voltage drops below 11.8v with battery disconnected?
If yes: replace the battery
If NO: disconnect the charge regultor in the engine. See then if the voltage still drops.
If it doesn't drop anymore: replace the regulator!
Your battery is definately suspect.Give it a good charge and check it again. If it drops like that when you turn on the lights replace it.A fully charged battery in good condition will read about 14.2V when fully charged. When you turn the key to start it will drop to about 11 and come back up when you turn the key off.
If the camera was dropped and it does not turn on with a known GOOD battery the camera must have been damaged. When you dropped it the FIRST time and it worked you were lucky. Cameras do NOT like to be dropped.
If the cell phone battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

first thin is to clean up all contacts neg and pos, coild be one is loosing contact due to heat, nest step is monitor cahrge rate at alternator when drop occurs , if so then it is probably internal
