Prblem i want to format mp3 player but lose software it

please do not re-format the device. some manufacturers partition their mp3 players and store their software suite on it instead of sending a cdrom with it. this feature saves the company money for making software cdrom's. most software suites are compressed for transport until installed by the end user. also some of them may have some type of a "auto-install" function built into the player when connected the usb port. there might have been a paper manual or guide on the packaging that came with device in question. please refer to that if you still have it. the other thing you can do is check the web site for the mp3 player.
a mp3 player is like a over sized flash drive where you can copy/paste files to and from but with one bonus feature you can play music or videos on it as well.

Hello,please kindly connect the mp3 player to your computer with your USB connector,after that is done you the use the computer to format the mp3,that is the only way you can do that.
when the usb is connected to both the computer and the mp3 player,you then click on option on the computer,there you would see format device,you then click on it and this will take some minutes for the formation.after that is done,you will lose the datas you have on the mp3 but the mp3 player will function as expected.

Your player is mp3 , that means it can only play mp3 files . Did you check the format of the music files on your computer before you download them to your mp3 ? They must be mp3 format also , otherwise they can not be played on your mini device . If they are not mp3 files , then you need to convert them before you download them to mp3 format before you download them to your mp3 player . If the files on your computer are in mp3 format , then the problem is in the software of your mp3 player . To fix software problem of your mini device , you need to update it's software . Updating software must be available on the manufacturer website .

did you try the website, usually they have the software

first, go here and download the utility:
http://mp3-player-utilities.software.informer.com/

Then:

Start up MP3 Utilities Disk Tool.

Ensure that you select LOW Format Type.

Next, go to the Partition and Encrypt tab as shown below.

Slide the Partition slider to the Left, and click on Start.

You will repeat the process and the "Complete setting disk partition!" dialog box would appear.

Then Format again your player on Windows..

I am not able to either only because i dont have the software for it. So if u dont have the software, then that is definatley your prblem. ~Tell me what you think.~

Download SonicStage software here. When you've installed the software, format the player from the menu. Then transfer your music with this program.
That should work.

Sounds like you better back-up the data & format the player then!

Is there anything on your mp3 you don't want to lose? If so transfer files across to your PC first to back them up.

Then go to My Computer, right click your mp3 player & select FORMAT. Then you can transfer files back to your player.

If you Format it with the formatting tools given with the software then there are chances to loose the firmware.But formating it with windows format then it will not.Try formatting in command prompt that avoids errors.
